Sunshine Coast Value Bet - Race 1 No. 10 Miss Kit Kat

Four trial appearances preceded Miss Kit Kat’s race debut at this venue earlier this month, where she produced a solid effort in a 1200m maiden.

Sent around at $21 on a Good track, the filly finished fifth and was beaten just over three lengths after settling in mid-division under Cejay Graham, who retains the ride here.

The daughter of Jungle Cat is expected to have improved from that initial race-day experience, while barrier seven should not pose any major issues.

Wet-track conditions also hold no concerns, with the three-year-old having experience on affected ground and placing second in a Doomben trial a month ago.

She appeared to have no issues with this distance on debut and, with connections opting to tackle this race rather than the finale on Friday’s card, she rates value to break through at the second attempt.

Double R Group Class 5 Handicap Tips (Race 3)

Sunshine Coast Roughie - Race 3 No. 7 Streak Of Winning

A strong record at this venue brings Streak Of Winning into calculations at odds, with the six-year-old having registered three victories at the Sunshine Coast.

He was spelled following a last-of-nine finish over 1300m at Toowoomba in March before making his first start for trainer James Healy at Doomben earlier this month.

Ridden cold from barrier eight, the gelding was never a factor when finishing seventh over 1110m, having raced wide throughout on his return.

With no recognised trial leading into that effort, he should have derived a significant fitness benefit, while the rise in distance is another positive.

The Soft conditions should hold few concerns given he has won twice on wet tracks in the past and, with a solid second-up record to his name, the son of Spieth is capable of surprising some better-fancied rivals.

BRD Group BM65 Handicap Tips (Race 4)

Sunshine Coast Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Moaksun

Some good efforts in defeat earlier this preparation were followed by an immediate Queensland breakthrough from Moaksun, who won on debut for Kristie Clark-Peoples last time.

Contesting a Class 1 Plate at this track, the gelding came home nearly two lengths clear of his nearest pursuer in an impressive performance.

Freshened prior to that success, he appeared to appreciate racing over this distance and the softer ground expected here should hold no concerns given he has placed on wet tracks in the past.

While the form from that track-and-trip victory is yet to be tested, the son of Akeed Mofeed won with something in hand after coming from off the pace.

Michael Rodd rides this circuit well and, jumping from next to the fence, his mount looks capable of registering the third victory of his career.

Bellagrove Estate QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate Tips (Race 7)

Sunshine Coast Best Bet - Race 7 No. 9 Flaressence

Two strong runner-up performances in metropolitan maidens give Flaressence a clear form edge heading into the Sunshine Coast finale.

The first came over 1000m at Eagle Farm last month, where she was narrowly denied in a strong maiden that has since produced metropolitan winners from the third, fourth and fifth placegetters.

She then stepped up to 1110m at Doomben earlier this month and again finished second, this time behind a front-running debutant.

Both race-day efforts came on Good ground, although the youngster appeared to handle wet conditions without issue when winning a Doomben trial in July.

Robert Heathcote’s filly sets the standard here and, with an inside barrier in her favour and the return to 1000m holding no concerns, she is selected to break through for her first win.
