Eala has taken her game to the next level over the last couple of months, registering a 16-5 record across her last 21 matches dating back to the grass swing.

Part of that run included picking up her maiden WTA 500 title in Washington and now the 21-year-old will be targeting her second piece of 500 silverware in Singapore - and the draw has opened up, with second seed Amanda Anisimova withdrawing injured.

Eala opens her campaign against Prozorova, who has only won two WTA main draw matches since 2023 and has never been ranked higher than No. 140 in the world.

Prozorova has never beaten a top 50 player, let alone an in-form member of the top 20.

Barring some post-US Open rust, this should be a one-sided victory for Eala as she looks to make a statement to launch the Asian swing.

As mentioned, Eala has won 16 of her last 21 matches at all levels, securing titles at the WTA 500 in Washington and the WTA 125 in Birmingham, along with reaching the R16 in Toronto and third round at Wimbledon.

Since Roland Garros, seven of Eala's eight defeats have come against top 20 players, so it's taking the best players to beat her at the moment.

The 21-year-old hasn't played since a narrow three-set loss to Iva Jovic at the US Open. Eala is making her second appearance in Singapore - she went out in qualifying while ranked outside the top 100 last year.

However, the 22-year-old is enjoying a nice mini-period over the last month and she will be hoping to build on this little bit of momentum.

Prozorova won her first WTA main draw match since 2023 in Memphis last month when she beat Solana Sierra, but she went out in the first round of US Open qualifying.

The Russian received some good fortune to enter this WTA 500 main draw directly after a slew of withdrawals and she made the most of her chance, coming from a set and 2-4 down to topple Sofia Costoulas 5-7 7-6 6-2 to advance into the second round.
