Prior to her eight-length romp in in the Cox Plate, Via Sistina won the 2024 Turnbull Stakes and the Chris Waller-trained import is likely to follow the same path over the 2025 spring.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock rounded out her autumn with a hat-trick and from 11 starts in Australia, she has recorded eight victories (all at Group 1 level).
With Ladbrokes, Via Sistina ($2) heads the market for the 2025 Turnbull Stakes.
Antino ($8) showed his class with a 6.5-length win in last year's Toorak Handicap and there were excuses two starts later when beaten in Hong Kong.
His last two performances in Queensland have been impressive, which includes a comfortable victory in the Group 1 Doomben Cup.
Treasurethe Moment ($9) has an excellent record, with nine wins and two seconds from 11 starts (won her last eight).
She beat a subsequent Group 1 winner when successful in the Vinery Stud Stakes and the filly was then spelled after a narrow triumph in the Australian Oaks.
The 2025 Turnbull Stakes will be run on Saturday, October 4.

Turnbull Stakes Winners
The Turnbull Stakes was first run in 1865, making it one of Australia’s oldest 2000m races.
Named after the former Victorian Racing Club Chairman Richard Turnbull, this Group 1 has since changed names on a few occasions but the original name was reinstated in 1948.
It has been taken out by some of Australia’s finest middle-distance horses including Ajax, Rising Fast, Sunline and Winx.
The Turnbull Stakes is a great race in its own right it is considered one of the main form lines leading into the big three of Victorian racing, the Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup & Melbourne Cup.
Smokin' Romans (2022), Gold Trip (2023) and Via Sistina (2024) have won the last three editions of the Turnbull Stakes.
