Turnbull Stakes 2025 Betting Odds - Via Sistina favoured to go back-to-back
The 2025 Turnbull Stakes, scheduled for October 4th, highlights Via Sistina as the lead contender at $2 odds. Previously victorious in the 2024 Turnbull Stakes, Via Sistina is among the favorites alongside other notable horses such as Antino and Treasurethe Moment. With a rich history dating back to 1865, the Turnbull Stakes has seen champions like Ajax and Winx. This race plays a critical role in the lead-up to key events like the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup.

Via Sistina ($2.20 with Ladbrokes) is a 10-time Group 1 winner who wasn’t suited second-up in the Makybe Diva Stakes, a race dictated by Mr Brightside.

She atoned third-up last spring when taking out the Turnbull Stakes before a famous Cox Plate romp, and her record sees her back at the top of betting this year.
Aeliana ($4) should’ve won the Rosehill Guineas over this trip third-up in autumn before a big Australian Derby victory.
First-up this campaign, she was honest when just missing Via Sistina in the Winx Stakes, and then turned the tables on that rival in the Makybe Diva Stakes.
Antino, Buckaroo and Sir Delius all warrant respect on the third line of betting at $7.
Buckaroo was runner-up to Via Sistina in last year’s Turnbull Stakes, while Sir Delius arrives off a Group 1 Underwood Stakes win where he narrowly defeated Buckaroo.
Antino has been unsuited in both runs this prep, and this assignment should give punters a better guide on where he’s at.
The 2025 Turnbull Stakes will be run on Saturday, October 4.
