There isn't any superstars among the current Australian sprinting ranks and with Ka Ying Rising a potential champion on the rise in Hong Kong, the bookies are taking no risks with the David Hayes-trained galloper in The Everest markets.

Ka Ying Rising recorded his first Group 1 win in the Hong Kong Sprint on December 8 and the gelding couldn't have been more impressive prior to that when setting a new 1200m track record at Sha Tin. where he ran slick time despite being looked after late under Zac Purton.

He's unbeaten form three appearances in 2025 and two of those victories were recorded at Group 1 level.

At $2.35 with EliteBet, Ka Ying Rising heads the futures market for the 2025 edition of The Everest.

Private Harry ($6.50) is unbeaten from five outings and he's quickly worked through the grades, with the last start triumph via The Galaxy coming in his first Group 1 attempt.

The Everest Winners


The Everest was first run and won in 2017, changing the Australian and international racing scene in the process.
