John Allen has ridden four of the last nine South Australian Derby winners and the Irishman has the key engagement of Statuario, who heads the market.
It's nearing D-Day for the grey last time out when contesting the Galilee Series Final and he relished the rise in trip to land that 2400m feature.
Although a testing 2500m is an unknown for Statuario, he's the most brilliant horse in this line-up and he can use his turn-of-foot on good ground from a low draw.
His campaign has been spaced out somewhat, with just four runs completed since resuming on February 8 and he moved well in a jump-out on April 22.

The Godolphin galloper is well bred, with Lavalier a younger sibling to five stakes winners and that includes Epaulette and Helmet (both Group 1 winners).
With runner-up finishes via his last two outings, the son of Microphone has been building well and he's got the platform to attack this staying journey.
Lavalier produced the best Derby trial in last Saturday's Chairman's Stakes and Jamie Melham has been aboard for his last three appearances.

The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper bounced off a Carbine Club Stakes tilt at Randwick to finish fourth-of-fifteen in the Chairman's Stakes last week.
He lacked the change up speed to win that event, but Saint Emilion still stuck to the task well and he could be peaking just in time for the South Australian Derby.
His Geelong Classic triumph was recorded fourth-up last spring, while gate seven gives Todd Pannell plenty of options aboard a versatile three-year-old.
