Queensland Derby 2025 Betting Tips - Beau Dazzler can surprise
The 2025 Queensland Derby features an exciting lineup of three-year-old horses with Statuario and Beau Dazzler leading the odds. Beau Dazzler impressed in a rapid Queensland Guineas but needed time to recover in the Rough Habit Plate, positioning him for a strong performance. Statuario, after a near-win in the South Australian Derby, aims for dominance with strong past results supporting its chances. Given the field's travel fatigue, both horses have a unique edge in the race.
- The Queensland Derby is a prestigious three-year-old event
- Beau Dazzler is highlighted as the best bet, with potential improvement third-up
- Following previous solid performances, Statuario stands out as a strong contender
The Queensland Derby was first run in 1868 and Kingston Town, Strawberry Road and Rough Habit are some of the champion past winners of this three-year-old feature.

This feature is one of three Group 1's on Saturday's Eagle Farm program and a competitive lineup has been assembled.
At $5.50 with Picklebet, Statuario heads the market for the 2025 Queensland Derby.
2025 Queensland Derby Tips
2025 Queensland Derby Best Bet - Beau Dazzler
He was terrific first-up in a fast-run Queensland Guineas and that fresh effort left the colt flat second-up when contesting the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate.
Beau Dazzler still wasn't disgraced in that key lead-up, where the youngster picked up a little late after looking well beaten and he clearly needed that run.
The Sears-trained galloper peaked third and fourth-up last campaign when completing a Grand Prix and Eagle Way double (both races at Eagle Farm).
His main rivals are mostly deep into their preps and they've also done plenty of travelling, whereas this Queenslander still has improvement to come.
2025 Queensland Derby Next Best Bet - Statuario
Arguably the most talented horse in this field is Statuario and the grey is looking to atone from a runner-up finish as fav in the South Australian Derby.
The winner of that 2500m Adelaide feature (Femminile) got the saloon passage and cashed in, while Statuario was left with too big of a task.
He was a stylish winner two starts back and that form through has stood up through both second and third, which includes Litzdeel (subsequent SA Fillies Classic winner).
It has been somewhat of a spaced out prep for Statuario, who was a month between runs in the South Australian Derby and he held form deep into his first campaign.
