One of three Group 1 races on a high-quality Blue Diamond Stakes Day program, the Oakleigh Plate is an 1100m sprint run under handicap conditions.

Point Barrow is a raw but highly talented filly who has recorded four wins and two seconds from six starts, including back-to-back victories to close out her spring campaign.

The latest win was recorded up the Flemington straight, which she arrived at off an eye-catching performance when saluting on Caulfield Guineas Day.

The Freedman-trained filly carries just 50kg in the 2026 Oakleigh Plate and at $3.80 with Neds, she is the outright favourite.

Four runners share the second line of betting, with $7 available for Geegees Mistruth, Hedged, Oak Hill and Tropicus.

A versatile galloper based in Tasmania, Geegees Mistruth is a four-time stakes winner who has placed in four of six attempts at Caulfield, including a first-up third at Listed level here on January 26.

Hedged is racing well, winning two of three summer outings before an unlucky third in the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes, with that February 7 event won by Oak Hill.

Tropicus will contest the Oakleigh Plate first-up, having won in style on return over this track and trip earlier in the season and second-up was a brave runner-up behind Giga Kick, who took out the Group 1 Champions Sprint at his next start.

Oakleigh Plate Winners

The Oakleigh Plate returned to Caulfield Racecourse in 2024 after being run at Sandown in 2023 due to track renovations.

Run between the Lightning Stakes and the Newmarket Handicap, the 1100m feature forms the middle leg of the autumn sprinting series and is traditionally one of the most famous sprinting handicaps on the Australian racing calendar.

Recent winners of the Oakleigh Plate include Uncommon James (2023), Queman (2024), and Jimmysstar (2025).
