Former winners and Group 1 standouts headline another deep renewal, blending proven Australian stars with high-profile international contenders.

Fangirl, Pride Of Jenni and Mr Brightside renew their rivalry in what promises to be one of the highlights of a stacked spring program.

2025 King Charles III Stakes Tips

2025 King Charles III Stakes Best Bet - Pride Of Jenni

Pride Of Jenni brings intrigue to any race as an exciting front-runner, and the three-time Group 1 winner resumed with an all-the-way victory in the Feehan Stakes at Moonee Valley.

It was an effort to get the eight-year-old back, with two shockers either side of her two wins last campaign, but keeping her to trips under 2000m looks the key nowadays.

We’ve seen her break the hearts of Fangirl and Mr Brightside before, with her bold tactics often taking rivals out of their comfort zone a long way from home.

It wasn’t an empty-out run first-up either, with this a clear spring target, and her last two starts at Randwick have been a second in last year’s King Charles III Stakes and her famous Queen Elizabeth Stakes romp.
2025 King Charles III Stakes Next Best Bet - Fangirl

The jury was somewhat out after her Memsie Stakes resumption, but Fangirl immediately bounced back when returning to Sydney to take out the 7 Stakes in fine style.

That’s proven a hot form race, with runner-up Lindermann having led throughout for a big win in last Saturday’s Hill Stakes, adding to his earlier victory over the smart Sir Delius.

The formula for Fangirl is simple enough — firm ground and races in the 1400m–1600m range bring out her best, and she thrives at Royal Randwick.

Three of her four Group 1 victories have come here, and nine of her 12 career wins overall have been at Randwick. All things being equal, she remains the most brilliant galloper in this field.
2025 King Charles III Stakes Value Bet - Tom Kitten

The Anthony & Freedman yard were on the back foot early in their first campaign preparing Tom Kitten, who was scratched from the Memsie Stakes when set to resume.

He instead kicked off in the Makybe Diva Stakes, where the five-year-old over-raced back in the field in a leader-dominated affair, and he was again unsuited in the Feehan Stakes second-up.

It’s not the ideal lead-up, but a sharp improvement wouldn’t surprise third-up in the King Charles III Stakes, having proved his Group 1 mile credentials in March.

Ideally, Tom Kitten gets the fast tempo that Pride Of Jenni is expected to generate — the very scenario that gives her the best chance of upsetting Fangirl — and that genuine pace could also bring him right into the finish late.
