Australia vs India ODI & T20I Series Preview: Squads and how to watch and stream

India’s blockbuster white-ball tour of Australia is shaping up to be one of the biggest cricket events of the year.

The action kicks off on 19 October with three ODIs in Perth, Adelaide and Sydney, before a five-match T20 series rolls through Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

India’s squad has a mix of old and new, with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma returning for the ODIs under the fresh leadership of Shubman Gill, who’s been named captain. It’s a bit of a generational shift for India, using this tour to build towards the 2027 World Cup. The T20s will see Suryakumar Yadav take the reins, while Rishabh Pant remains sidelined with injury.

On the Aussie side, there’s been a shuffle thanks to injuries and family commitments. Josh Inglis is out of the first ODI with a calf issue and Adam Zampa will miss the Perth game for family reasons, opening the door for Josh Philippe and Matt Kuhnemann to slot in. Alex Carey is skipping the opener to play Shield cricket but should be back later in the series.

With packed stadiums, huge interest and both sides testing depth before a massive summer of cricket, this series feels like the perfect warm-up for the Ashes and future ICC events. Expect plenty of big hits, fast wickets, and maybe a few selection headaches as both teams juggle experience, youth, and fitness heading into a long season.
