Australia will bid for another piece of World Cup history when they take on hosts England in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final at Lord's on Sunday.

Here is our preview of the big game as well as predictions and team news as we head to the decider at Lords.

Australia vs England Women's T20 World Cup Final Preview

The tournament's two unbeaten sides have comfortably been the standout teams throughout the competition, setting up a blockbuster decider between cricket's fiercest rivals.

While England believe last year's Ashes whitewash is behind them under new coach Charlotte Edwards and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, Australia enter the final with the experience, depth and big-match pedigree that has made them the benchmark of the women's game.

The Australians have barely put a foot wrong all tournament, winning all six matches while defeating South Africa, India and West Indies on the way to the final. Their semi-final victory over the West Indies highlighted the balance within the side, restricting the Caribbean outfit before Beth Mooney blasted an unbeaten 61 from just 36 balls to complete the chase inside 13 overs.

Australia's bowling attack has also adapted brilliantly to what has been one of the highest-scoring Women's T20 World Cups on record, consistently taking wickets while keeping opposition scoring in check. Ashleigh Gardner continues to deliver with both bat and ball, while Annabel Sutherland, Megan Schutt and Georgia Wareham have provided crucial support throughout the campaign.

England have also won every match at the tournament and secured their place in the final with an impressive victory over South Africa. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt returned from injury in outstanding fashion, producing a match-winning 75 that reinforced her status as England's most important player.

The hosts insist they are treating Sunday's final as a fresh start rather than dwelling on last year's 16-0 Ashes defeat. Vice-captain Charlie Dean says the squad has developed under Charlotte Edwards and believes England is playing with greater confidence and freedom heading into a home World Cup final.

England possess genuine match winners in Sciver-Brunt, Charlie Dean, Lauren Bell and Danni Wyatt-Hodge, but Australia's greatest advantage remains their depth.

The Australians rarely rely on one player, with Beth Mooney, Gardner, Georgia Wareham and Sutherland all producing match-winning performances at different stages of the tournament. That versatility has been a defining feature of Australia's success in major tournaments and gives them answers regardless of how the match unfolds.

Australia vs England Women's T20 World Cup Final Team News

Australia is expected to receive a timely boost with veteran all-rounder Ellyse Perry likely to be fit despite an injury concern earlier in the week. Perry's experience in pressure matches adds another proven performer to an already formidable line-up featuring Beth Mooney, Phoebe Litchfield and Ashleigh Gardner, while her ability to contribute with both bat and ball gives Australia valuable flexibility.

England will also take confidence from the return of captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, who made an immediate impact after overcoming a calf injury with a superb 75 in the semi-final against South Africa. England have embraced a fresh start under coach Charlotte Edwards and skipper Sciver-Brunt, with Charlie Dean saying the side has put last year's Ashes disappointment behind them and is playing with renewed confidence heading into a home World Cup final.

Australia vs England Women's T20 World Cup Final Prediction

England have improved significantly under their new leadership and, backed by a home crowd at Lord's, should provide Australia's toughest test of the tournament. However, Australia have looked the more complete side throughout the competition, boasting greater batting depth, more bowling variety and unrivalled experience in World Cup finals. Expect England to challenge early, but Australia's composure in the biggest moments should see them lift another Women's T20 World Cup trophy.
