Gold Coast Suns vs Port Adelaide Power AFL Round 10 Tips - Power to serve it up to Suns in Darwin

In the AFL 2026 Round 10 clash at TIO Stadium, in-form Gold Coast Suns (6-3) face a resilient yet unlucky Port Adelaide Power (3-6). Despite Gold Coast’s recent defensive improvements and Darwin dominance, Port’s tough defense makes this match closer than the records suggest. Watch for Zak Butters’ consistent ball accumulation and the total match points likely staying under due to both sides’ defensive strengths. Expert tip: Port Adelaide +26.5 in line betting offers value, while Butters is tipped for 30+ disposals again.

Gold Coast Suns vs Port Adelaide Power AFL Round 10 Tips

Gold Coast Suns vs Port Adelaide Power, Round 10 2026 - Expert Prediction

Port Adelaide will push Gold Coast all the way with top-end football continuing at TIO Stadium in Darwin on Friday night.

The Suns hosted St Kilda at the venue in Round 9 and came away with a 29-point victory to take their win-loss record to 6-3, while Port Adelaide missed out in another tight one, going down to the Western Bulldogs by two points. The Power head in with a win-loss record of 3-6.

But this will be a lot closer than what the respective win-loss records indicate. Port Adelaide are more than capable of matching the Gold Coast and remain one of the hardest teams in the competition to put away.

Four of Port Adelaide’s six losses this season have come by three points or less and they rank third in the AFL for fewest points conceded, giving up just 78 points per game. Even while being smashed in inside 50s by both Adelaide and the Bulldogs over the past fortnight, their defence has continued to hold up strongly through Aliir Aliir and an emerging back six.

Gold Coast have added another dimension to their game in recent weeks by tightening up defensively, restricting both GWS and St Kilda to just eight goals apiece after conceding 100+ points in a string of matches through April.

They have lifted their pressure and contest work around the ball, while their ability to slingshot from half-back through Daniel Rioli, John Noble and Bodhi Uwland has become a major weapon and should give them the upper hand in a tight contest, while they love the Darwin conditions, having won each of their past nine at TIO.

But on the flip-side, Port Adelaide have been the Suns bogey side since they came into the competition and their ability to stay in games through contest and pressure should ensure this remains tight for most of the night.

The Power will also take confidence from the form of Zak Butters and Mitch Georgiades, with Butters extending his streak of 30+ disposal games to eight and Georgiades booting 2+ goals in every match this season. Take them with the 26.5-point start, while the total points under is also in play given the defensive profiles of both clubs.

Zak Butters should again find plenty of the football against the Suns, while Touk Miller continues to thrive in Darwin conditions and looms as a strong AFL Fantasy option after consecutive 31-disposal performances.

  • Port Adelaide are 3-6, but four of their losses have been by three points or less.
  • The Power rank third in the competition for fewest points conceded this season, giving up just 78 points per game.
  • The Suns have improved defensively and have conceded just eight goals in both of their past two matches.
  • Zak Butters has had 35 disposals in each of his past two matches against the Suns.

Head to Head Stats

Gold Coast’s first ever win came against Port Adelaide back in 2011, but it has been the Power that have dominated this match-up by winning 15 of 16 since then, including an upset four-point victory in Round 24 last season with that match played at Adelaide Oval. The two sides have never met at TIO Stadium, but the Suns did win their most recent home match against Port at the Gold Coast in 2024.

Notable player performances in the recent head-to-heads come from;
  • Zak Butters (Power) - 35 disposals in each of his past two against the Suns
  • Mitch Georgiades (Power) - 2+ goals in each of his past four, including a bag of four the last time the two sides met
  • Touk Miller (Suns) - average of 109 AFL Fantasy points in his past four matches against Port Adelaide

Gold Coast Suns Form Analysis

Gold Coast enter this clash at 6-3 and have bounced back in the past two rounds with wins over GWS and St Kilda. They lost three of four matches in April but have lifted their pressure and defensive intensity, winning ugly while forcing turnovers and capitalising going the other way.

Their 13.11 (89) to 8.12 (60) win over St Kilda was built on effort and system rather than polish, and they held their nerve after a slow start that saw them trail by 25 points at quarter-time.

Ben King booted four goals, while a trio of Suns had 31 disposals - John Noble, Touk Miller and Noah Anderson. Noble has hit the 30+ mark in his past two matches, while Anderson has reached that mark in two of his past three. King has 32 goals for the season.

Importantly, after conceding 100+ points in each of a block of games in April, Gold Coast have since restricted both GWS and St Kilda to just eight goals — a sign their defensive structures are improving at the right time.

Port Adelaide Power Form Analysis

Port Adelaide sit 3-6 and are unlucky not to have picked up an extra win or two, with four of their losses coming by three points or less, including the Round 9 fixture against the Western Bulldogs, which was a two-point loss. Scores were locked with less than 30 seconds left on the clock, but the Dogs got the upper hand late in what was a low-scoring contest (72-74).

The Power were again smashed in the inside 50 count (35-59), following on from the 39-59 count against the Crows a week earlier when losing by a point, but their back six stood up and were led by Aliir Aliir, who had 21 disposals and 13 marks. Port made the most of their opportunities inside forward 50, with Mitch Georgiades booting four goals.

Georgiades has 25 goals for the season and has kicked 2+ in every game, while he has had 3+ in each of his past three. Corey Durdin has hit the scoreboard in every game and has 15 goals for the season. Zak Butters had 30 disposals against the Bulldogs, making it eight straight matches with 30+.

The Power travel interstate for just the fourth time this season and are 1-2 outside of South Australia, with losses to North Melbourne and Hawthorn at Marvel Stadium and a win over Richmond at the MCG.
