The Wimbledon quarter-final between Novak Djokovic and Felix Auger-Aliassime promises a tight contest. Djokovic, fresh from surpassing Federer’s Wimbledon win record, seeks his 25th Grand Slam. However, he’s shown vulnerability, dropping sets against lower-ranked opponents. Auger-Aliassime, meanwhile, looks sharp despite some recent inconsistency. Both players have a history of long, tense matches, making 'Over 39.5 games' the top tip. Auger-Aliassime represents strong underdog value in what is expected to be a closely-fought duel.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Novak Djokovic Wimbledon Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Novak Djokovic continues his pursuit of a 25th Grand Slam title when he comes up against third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the Wimbledon quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Djokovic continues to make history with basically every match and that was again the case in his Wimbledon R16 win over Roman Safiullin, where he overtook Roger Federer for the most match wins at the tournament.

PlayerWimbledon Record
Novak Djokovic106–13
Roger Federer105–14
Jimmy Connors84–18
Boris Becker71–12
Pete Sampras63–7

The 39-year-old might not have a better chance to win that elusive 25th major title, with Carlos Alcaraz sidelined through injury and Jannik Sinner nowhere near his best, with the Italian likely to be waiting in the semi-finals.

However, I'm not sure Djokovic makes it to the final four this time around. The Serbian has dropped sets to Arthur Rinderknech, Yibing Wu and Safiullin already this tournament and Auger-Aliassime is a far superior player to all of them. Djokovic was down two sets to Lorenzo Musetti at the Australian Open before the Italian retired and Joao Fonseca finished stronger at the French Open - he's gradually losing more of these big slam matches.

The Canadian has put together almost the perfect tournament in preparation for this clash, winning his opening three sets in easy straight sets before surviving a five-set tussle with the in-form Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, which should hold him in good stead for this one.

My best bet for this clash is Over 39.5 total games - as mentioned, Djokovic has dropped a set in three of his four matches this tournament, while Felix also went the distance in his three Halle matches before Wimbledon and he also is no stranger to five-set matches at the majors. Both of their previous meetings have also seen a tiebreak, with Djokovic playing two in his last two and Felix seeing five in his last three.

A four-set match should push this to at least 40 games, while I like Auger-Aliassime as the underdog in a match I see as close to 50-50.
  • Auger-Aliassime went to a deciding set in his three Halle matches on grass
  • Auger-Aliassime went to a fifth-set tiebreak in two of his four Roland Garros matches last month
  • Auger-Aliassime went five sets with Davidovich Fokina in the R16
  • Djokovic has dropped a set in three of his four Wimbledon matches this tournament
  • Djokovic has played two tiebreaks in his last two matches
  • Auger-Aliassime has played five tiebreaks in his last three matches

Felix Auger-Aliassime Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 30-13
  • Wimbledon Record: 11-6
  • Current Ranking: No. 4
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 4 (June 2026)

It hasn't really been a great season for Auger-Aliassime, but such is the state of men's tennis right now, he finds himself at a career-high ranking of No. 4 and seeded three at Wimbledon with Alcaraz out injured.

Auger-Aliassime remains at his best indoors, so it was no surprise to see him win the Montpellier title and make the final of Rotterdam in February.

However, the Canadian hasn't been past the quarter-final stage since, losing in the last eight of his last three tournaments at Roland Garros, Hertogenbosch and Halle.

Auger-Aliassime breezed past Alexander Shevchenko, Dino Prizmic and Michael Zheng in his opening three Wimbledon rounds before surviving a huge test against Mallorca champion Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.

The 25-year-old dropped the opening set and was forced to save three set points at 5-6 in the second set before gradually gaining control of the contest and coming away with a 6-7(4), 7-6(6), 6-3, 6-7(2), 6-1 victory.

Novak Djokovic Form Analysis

  • 2026 Record: 13-4
  • Wimbledon Record: 106-13
  • Current Ranking: No. 8
  • Career-High Ranking: No. 1 (2011)

Djokovic obviously plays a limited schedule these days as he prioritises the slams and as mentioned, this could be his best opportunity to land that elusive 25th major trophy.

Equipped with a 106-13 record at Wimbledon and winning 48 of his last 51 matches at the tournament, Djokovic knows that the lawns of SW19 are his best chance for one last slam triumph.

It's just Djokovic's fifth tournament of the year after a runner-up finish at the Australian Open, a R16 loss at Indian Wells, first round defeat in Rome and third round elimination at Roland Garros to Fonseca in five sets.

Djokovic eased past an embattled Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round, but that was his only straight sets win of this Wimbledon tournament, needing four to get by Rinderknech, Wu and Safiullin.

The 39-year-old was down 3-5 to Safiullin and dropped the third set before completing a 7-6(6), 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory.
