Macarthur have been flying in the AFC Champions League 2, but they've struggled in the A-League and come into this encounter down in ninth, while Victory are enduring a nightmare start to the season and are anchored to the bottom of the ladder with just one win heading into Round 7. Arthur Diles is under immense pressure and failure to emerge triumphant in this clash could result in the coach being shown the door.

Victory are on a three-game losing streak and have failed to score in all of those defeats, while Macarthur are coming off a poor 2-0 defeat at home to Perth last week - although they did have a quick turnaround from the Champions League. Victory are struggling on all fronts and don't look like scoring at the moment - I'm backing only one team to score, with Macarthur edging out a scrappy win in front of their home faithful.

These two teams have split the last four meetings at two wins apiece, but it's Victory who prevailed by 2-1 scores home and away last term.

It's been a fairly average start to the A-League season for Macarthur, but such is the nature of the A-League, a couple of back-to-back wins could propel them towards the top of the table.

As it stands, Macarthur are languishing in ninth place, registering a 2-1-3 record after six rounds.

The Bulls were on a five-game unbeaten run at Campbelltown Stadium before last Sunday's lacklustre 2-0 defeat at the hands of lowly Perth Glory, with Macarthur conceding two second-half goals.

While they aren't firing in the A-League, Macarthur have already secured their spot in the AFC Champions League 2 Round of 16, beating Tai Po last week to ensure their passage through from Group E.

Melbourne Victory Form Analysis

After making the Grand Final last term, Victory are in shambles to start this season, anchored to the bottom of the ladder after six rounds.

Victory have the joint-worst attack in the A-League and only the Jets have conceded more goals.

Diles is under huge pressure to keep his job and unless his side can turn things around and collect all three points on the road, there's a huge chance he will be sacked.

Victory's lone win this season has been over Perth, with the team currently on a three-game losing streak, going down to City (2-0), Sydney (3-0) and Brisbane (1-0). Victory conceded in the third minute against the Roar last week and couldn't find a way to penetrate Brisbane's defence for the remainder of the game.
