Sale hosts an eight-race program on June 28, featuring a balanced mix of Maiden and Benchmark events. Despite the track currently being a Heavy 9, improving weather could see conditions lift by race day. Key recommendations include Rodriquez as the best bet in Race 7, Urban Creed as a strong prospect in Race 4, Tishman offering value in Race 5, and Volatile presenting as an outsider in Race 8. Bettors are advised to monitor weather updates and consider horses proven in heavy or soft conditions.

Sale Tips June 28

Sale Racecourse Committee of Management Maiden Plate Tips (Race 4)

Sale Next Best Bet - Race 4 No. 6 Urban Creed

Urban Creed demonstrated ability when finishing fifth on debut at Pakenham before appreciating the rise in distance to 1717m at this venue.

Pushed along approaching the home turn, the gelding stayed on nicely down the outside to finish just over a length from the winner in third.

The son of Street Boss raced prominently throughout that contest, and the application of blinkers is expected to sharpen him up further.

While the form of that Sale maiden could be stronger, the three-year-old remains open to improvement and has drawn well in barrier five.

Jake Noonan retains the ride after partnering Urban Creed at both previous starts, and while he's expected to be even better over further, he looks capable of breaking through on Sunday.

Sale Value Bet - Race 5 No. 2 Tishman

Tishman has performed well at Sale previously, with two placings from four appearances at the track, including a runner-up finish over 2200m just under 12 months ago.

Two of the gelding's three starts last preparation came at metropolitan level, including a seventh over 1900m at Canterbury in January.

Racing on a Soft 5 that day, he produced a fair effort after jumping from a double-figure barrier to finish less than nine lengths from the winner.

The son of Dundeel has a solid first-up record and handles testing conditions, having filled the runner-up spot twice on Heavy ground.

Following three Cranbourne jump-outs ahead of his return, Tishman looks capable of resuming with a forward showing at value odds.

Sale Best Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Rodriquez

Rodriquez is a proven Sale performer, having recorded an impressive Benchmark 62 victory here in December.

While he's yet to win this preparation, both runs have come at metropolitan level, including a first-up third at Caulfield Heath before finishing seventh over 1200m at Sandown.

The son of Cable Bay was beaten less than a length on Soft ground at his return, while the rise to 1200m and a more prominent ride didn't suit last time.

Brian McGrath's gelding is also proven in Heavy conditions, having scored by a wide margin at Stony Creek earlier this season.

Barrier eight shouldn't pose a problem, and the drop back to country grade gives Rodriquez every chance to return to the winner's list.

Sale Roughie - Race 8 No. 7 Volatile

Volatile ticks plenty of boxes, having won two of his three previous starts at Sale, while rain-affected ground is another positive.

The gelding also produced a solid third on a Heavy 8 at Sandown two starts ago when competing in Benchmark 66 company over 1200m.

While he could finish only sixth at Geelong last time, he still stuck on well after being crowded at a crucial stage in the straight.

The drop back in grade is another positive, while the four-year-old has previously performed well from wide barriers.

Luke Cartwright knows Volatile well, and the pair look capable of causing an upset in Sunday's finale.
