France and Norway clash for Group I supremacy at the World Cup, both entering with perfect records. This encounter features star strikers Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, each boasting four goals. While France have dominated recent form, winning 11 of their last 13 games, they often concede, suggesting both teams will score. France’s attack, led by Mbappe and supported by Michael Olise, is expected to be decisive. The prediction: France win an exciting match, likely 3-1, with both teams on the scoresheet.

Norway vs France World Cup Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

Group I heavyweights France and Norway battle it out for top spot when they square off at Gillette Stadium on Friday.

France haven't won all three group stage games at a World Cup since 1998, when they went on to claim the trophy for the first time on home soil, while Norway are out to prove they aren't flat track bullies and can take on genuine elite opposition.

With two of the world's best strikers in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland locking horns, it's shaping as a blockbuster showdown in Massachusetts. Both players already have four goals for the tournament as they target the Golden Boot.

For me, you still can't go past France here - their attack is absolutely electric, with Michael Olise providing sensational support for Mbappe as he leads the assists charts with three. Les Bleus have won 11 of their last 13 games and five straight vs European opposition at the World Cup and they've been dominant against Senegal and Iraq.

But the French have also conceded in six of their last seven games, so Norway can find the back of the net and both teams to score appeals. Mbappe is good value at even money to make it five goals this World Cup as he looks to defend his Golden Boot crown. A correct score of 3-1 looks a good shout, with France scoring three goals in four of their last five outings.
  • France have seen BTTS in six of their last seven games
  • Norway have seen BTTS in eight of their last nine games
  • Norway & France have scored 13 goals between them this World Cup
  • France have won 11 of their last 13 games
  • France have won their last five World Cup games vs European opposition
  • Norway have failed to win three of their last four games vs European opposition
  • Kylian Mbappe has scored four goals in two games this World Cup & has 16 overall at the competition
  • France have scored exactly three goals in four of their last five games

Norway vs France Head To Head

The last eight meetings have been split at two wins apiece and four draws. France prevailed 4-0 in the most-recent clash in a 2014 friendly.

Norway Form Analysis

Norway won all of their qualifying games to make the World Cup, banging in goals for fun, and they've continued in that form across their opening two fixtures.

Stale Solbakken’s side are playing at the World Cup for the first time since 1998 and opened their campaign with a crushing 4-1 victory over Iraq, with Erling Haaland scoring the first two goals of his World Cup career.

Haaland bagged another brace as Norway held off a fast-finishing Senegal 3-2 in their second game, making it six points from six - but they currently sit in second spot behind France on goal difference.

Norway Team News

Borussia Dortmund defender Julian Ryerson went off injured late against Senegal, so Marcus Pedersen is a chance to come into the starting side.

France Form Analysis

Looking to go one step further than their 2022 runner-up appearance in Qatar, France have made the perfect start to this campaign, taking a maximum six points and producing some scintillating attacking football.

Didier Deschamps' side toppled Senegal 3-1 in their opening game courtesy of a brace from Kylian Mbappe and a sublime strike from substitute Bradley Barcola.

Mbappe scored another double as France cruised past Iraq 3-0 in their rain-delayed second clash, with Michael Olise pulling the strings with three assists for the tournament so far.

France Team News

No injury issues for France ahead of this clash.

Desire Doue didn't have his best game against Iraq, but is expected to start in a front four alongside Mbappe, Olise and Ousmane Dembele.
