Coffs Harbour hosts a seven-race card on June 28, headlined by the Sawtell Cup. The meeting faces challenging Heavy 10 track conditions, with standout picks for each featured race. Ghost Walker is favored in the Sawtell Cup (Race 6), having proven ability on wet ground and tactical advantages from the draw. Earlier races highlight Miss Bugatti (Race 5) for her consistent form, Best Eagle (Race 2) as a strong frontrunner, and Not So Dubious (Race 4) for value given his affinity for heavy tracks. These selections reflect both form and the demanding conditions.

Coffs Harbour Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 1 Best Eagle

Best Eagle produced his best effort to date when finishing third in wet conditions at Kilcoy on his penultimate start.

Racing on a Soft 6 that day, the gelding was beaten three lengths, with a further three-and-a-half lengths back to the fourth horse.

He raced on the speed over 1500m at Kilcoy before having excuses at Rockhampton last time, where he reportedly raced too keenly in blinkers.

The headgear comes off here, and Best Eagle maps to enjoy a comfortable lead after drawing barrier three.

The drop back in distance also looks suitable, and while the forecast Heavy conditions are an unknown, Justin Stanley's mount has plenty in his favour.

Coffs Harbour Value Bet - Race 4 No. 5 Not So Dubious

Not So Dubious showed an affinity for Heavy ground when breaking through for his maiden win at Grafton last month.

Competing on a Heavy 9 that day, the gelding registered a narrow victory over 1115m after racing prominently throughout.

The son of Dubious was ridden with more restraint when stepping into Class 1 company at Ipswich, where he again encountered Heavy ground and found 1200m against him.

He still worked home fairly without threatening the leaders and shaped as though the extra distance here would suit.

The return to a country Class 1 is another positive, and despite a tricky barrier, the Wayne Lawson-trained grey looks value under Anthony Allen.

Coffs Harbour Best Bet - Race 5 No. 9 Miss Bugatti

Miss Bugatti has performed well at this venue previously, placing third over 1200m here when second-up earlier this preparation.

The four-year-old has since finished in the top four in two of her three subsequent starts, continuing to race consistently.

Her best effort came at Muswellbrook last time, where she finished a close second on a Soft 7 after settling back in the field.

A wide barrier shouldn't pose too much of a problem, with similar tactics expected once again.

Matthew Bennett retains the ride, and while she's more exposed than some of her rivals, Miss Bugatti looks capable of breaking through.

Coffs Harbour Feature Bet - Race 6 No. 4 Ghost Walker

Ghost Walker has won twice from 11 starts this preparation, including a Benchmark 58 victory over 1600m at Wagga three runs ago.

While that success came on Good ground, the gelding has also shown he handles wet conditions, highlighted by his runner-up finish at Port Macquarie last time.

Racing on a Soft 7 in the Wauchope Cup, he was beaten just over a length after another competitive performance.

The form from that race is still developing, while the runner-up from his Wagga victory has since won both subsequent starts.

Paul Snowden's gelding also placed at his only previous start on Heavy ground, and with barrier four in his favour, he looks well placed to record another victory.
