Horsham Tips May 19
Value Bet
Race 1 No. 7 Flying Nic
The daughter of Nicconi has shown ability in three starts to date, including an eighth-place finish at Ararat recently.
Jumping as a $71 chance, the filly was beaten just over six lengths in a 13-runner maiden over 1100m.
Flying Nic raced on a wet surface that day after recording a pair of solid efforts on Good ground in her first two starts.
Andrew Bobbin’s filly was ridden quietly from a wide barrier last time out and now rises to this distance for the first time.
An inside draw looks a positive and the filly gets in with a light weight thanks to Tayla Cameron’s 4kg claim.
Market Mover
Race 4 No. 8 Symphonite
Linda Meech’s mount has recorded top-three finishes in her last two starts, including at Ararat last time out.
The mare was beaten four lengths over 1300m on a wet surface there and has attracted early punter support for this assignment.
Symphonite has remained firm in Unibet Australia markets and currently holds favouritism at $2.30.
Stats Say
Trainer Tom Dabernig boasts a 33% strike-rate (2/6) with his runners at the track this season.
Three of the trainer’s four defeats at the venue have also resulted in second-place finishes.
Dabernig saddles three runners on Tuesday, including likely Race 2 favourite Harry De Lad under Will Gordon.
Symphonite in Race 4 and Kijivu in Race 5 are the stable’s other representatives and both are expected to start at single-figure odds.
