Montefilia was the pre-draw favourite for The Metropolitan, arriving to this staying feature third-up following eye-catching performances in both the Chelmsford Stakes and Kingston Town Stakes.

She will jump from barrier 17 in this 2400m contest, with the daughter of Kermadec yet to win in two attempts past 2000m, finishing third in last year's VRC Oaks and fifth in the autumn via the Australian Oaks.

She's Ideel was desperately unlucky throughout the Sydney Autumn, where after being a good thing beaten behind Polly Grey, placed behind Sir Dragonet in the Tancred Stakes.

The Bjorn Baker-trained mare returned to winning form last start in the Kingston Town Stakes and has drawn barrier 15 in The Metroplitan.

Mirage Dancer (barrier 13) hasn't won since taking out the 2020 Metropolitan and only goes up half a kilo off last year's edition.

This will likely be the final start for the son of Frankel.

A full field of 18 have accepted for the 2021 Metropolitan, along with three emergencies.
