The 2025 Newmarket Handicap betting with Betr is favouring two three-year-old's and Switzerland ($4.60) heads the futures market.
The Chris Waller-trained colt won his first three appearances as a juvenile before an eighth-of-sixteen finish in the Golden Slipper and he atoned from a first-up failure early this season, with consecutive wins before a spell.
His latest triumph was recorded at Group 1 level up the Flemington straight, where Switzerland took out the Coolmore Stud Stakes on Derby Day.
Growing Empire ($6) is the second three-year-old who is prominent in the Newmarket Handicap futures market and while he produced an end-of-prep performance when third in the Coolmore Stud Stakes, his prior form was strong (two Group 1 placings vs older opposition).
The son of Zoustar was a straight-track winner last September and from eight career starts, he hasn't finished out of the money.

Newmarket Handicap Winners
Run under handicap conditions and contested up the Flemington straight over 1200m, the Newmarket Handicap is arguably Melbourne's most prestigious sprinting race.
While champions in Alinghi, Miss Andretti, Weekend Hussler and Black Caviar have saluted at short prices, this feature often lends itself to a long-priced winner, with Wanted ($13), Shamexpress ($15), The Quarterback ($21), Redkirk Warrior ($31), Sunlight ($13), Zoutori ($20) and Roch 'N' Horse ($101) among the recent winners of this event.
With eight wins, the legendary Bart Cummings is the most successful trainer in Newmarket Handicap history, while Damien Oliver leads the jockey tally with three victories.
Roch 'N' Horse (2022), In Secret (2023) and Cylinder (2024) have won the last three editions of the Newmarket Handicap.
