Seymour Next Best Bet - Race 2 No. 7 Dame Florence
There is plenty to like about the daughter of Zoustar, who placed second in her first two starts.
The most recent of those saw Dame Florence lose out narrowly over 1400m on the Sandown Lakeside circuit.
Racing on a Soft 5 surface for the first time, the filly stuck on well after racing prominently throughout.
That race has already produced a subsequent winner and Dame Florence followed with a fourth-place finish in a six-runner Caulfield Heath maiden over 1500m.
The drop back in distance and return to rain-affected ground both look favourable despite the awkward draw.
Ray White Seymour BM62 Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Seymour Value Bet - Race 5 No. 11 Proven Soul
The daughter of Justify placed second in three of her first four starts, including at Kilmore in April last year.
Proven Soul then broke through for her maiden victory at Bendigo the following month over 1300m.
A veterinary scratching ahead of her next intended start ruled the mare out for the remainder of 2025.
Her return run came in an 1100m BM62 contest when beaten less than two lengths on Good ground.
Further improvement is expected second-up and the booking of Daniel Stackhouse catches the eye.
Tallarook Sheds BM62 Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Seymour Roughie - Race 7 No. 7 Lady Brightside
The New Zealand-bred mare showed a liking for wet tracks when winning on debut over 1400m at Cranbourne in March last year.
Lady Brightside had also impressed winning a barrier trial at the same venue prior to that success.
Reports suggested the mare struck herself when disappointing in a Benchmark 64 contest at Cranbourne at her following start.
That proved to be her final appearance before a lengthy spell and she resumed at Ballarat late last month.
A rise in distance and return to rain-affected ground both look positives from an inside barrier.
Annabelle Cleeland Member for Euroa 0-62 Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Seymour Best Bet - Race 8 No. 2 Geeseven
The son of Bivouac made a promising start to his career when runner-up at Pakenham in November.
Geeseven then resumed with another narrow defeat at Geelong last month after dropping back to 1325m.
Having raced keenly there, the gelding returned to 1400m at Pakenham just under two weeks ago.
Racing on a Heavy 8 surface for the first time, Geeseven broke through for his maiden victory as a short-priced favourite.
Billy Egan’s mount looks capable of going on with the job stepping up in distance again on Thursday.
