The 2022 Kennedy Champions Mile is a Group One 1600 middle distance event run on the last day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
Private Eye (barrier five) makes his way down from Sydney in outstanding form, winning the Nature Strip Stakes last start and prior had finished second in The Everest. He is an Epsom winner so he runs out the mile strong.
Cascadian (barrier 11) has won his last two starts and is a Grand Final horse, as we saw when he won the All Aged Stakes in April this year.
Alligator Blood (barrier three) won the Underwood Stakes three starts back and last time ran a bold fifth in the Cox Plate.
My Oberon (barrier seven) was the winner of the Crystal Mile at The Valley last start while Tuvalu (barrier eight) can't be discounted after winning the Toorak Handicap last start.

Kennedy Champions Mile Winners
The Champions Mile has had 10 name changes since the first running in 1881, all of which relating around transport including the Honda Stakes and the Nissan Stakes before settling on the Emirates Stakes.
The Champions Mile is one of the more coveted events on the calendar outside the big three of Melbourne racing.
An important scheduling move was made when moving the Champions Mile from the last day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival to the first. This gives the winner a better chance to race again throughout the festival if connections decide to take that route.
With the race having gained WFA status, the race underwent a name change and a day change to the Champions Mile and moved back to the last day to form part of Champions Day.
