Mr Brightside lost admirers in a narrow first-up defeat in the CF Orr Stakes, where the the eight-time Group 1 winner was reeled in by Another Wil, who had a softer run in transit via that February 8 clash.

The seven-year-old has an excellent second-up record (five wins and a second from seven attempts) and he won last year's Futurity Stakes second-up as a $1.50 favourite.

At $1.60 with Ladbrokes, Mr Brightside heads the market for the 2025 Futurity Stakes.

After focusing on sprinting over the last few years, I Wish I Win ($5) is likely to get over longer distances in 2025 and he's proven past 1200m, with a Group 1 placing in New Zealand over a mile before coming to Australia.

I Wish I Win also took out the 2022 Golden Eagle (1500m) when rounding out his first Australian campaign.

Tom Kitten ($8) is a Group 1 winner over 2000m, however, the Godolphin galloper saluted first-up over this trip last campaign and he was gelded following his three-year-old season.
