The 2022 Empire Rose Stakes is a Group One mile for the fillies and mares run at Flemington.
La Crique (barrier 10) looks the clear horse to beat, bolting in at Group One level over the mile last start, and has been tested against some of New Zealand's best horses and now gets James McDonald in the saddle.
Three-year-old filly She's Licketysplit (barrier eight) gets the weight allowance in her favour, last seen running third in the Thousand Guineas while honest mare Icebath (barrier five) continues to run well against some of Australia's best.
Kissonallforcheeks (barrier 12) is unbeaten at Flemington while Nimalee (barrier two) and Palaisipan (barrier 20) also look chances with similar form lines.
Chris Waller's Kiku (barrier seven) is next best according to the bookmakers.

Empire Rose Stakes Winners
The Empire Rose Stakes has a relatively short history when inaugurated in 1988, with Concordance winning the first ever running of the event.
Named after Empire Rose who completed the MacKinnion Stakes/Melbourne Cup double in 1988, the race is a coveted one in the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
It achieved Group One status in 2004 which has ensured much better fields taking to the track to compete for the $500,000 prize pool.
