The 2022 Cranbourne Cup is a Listed 1600m event run on after the Melbourne Cup Carnival at Cranbourne racecourse.

Sale Cup winner Uncle Bryn (barrier eight) looks a leading contender with some Group One form around him and a dominant win two starts back under the belt.

Visinari (barrier seven) got the job done at Flemington two starts back before running an honest race in the Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley where the race was probably a touch too deep.

Sir Rupert Clarke winner Callsign Mav (barrier 10) carries the top weight while Just Folk (barrier one) is such an honest stakes performer, but would love some rain around.

Our Playboy (barrier two) will look to go one better than last year and Buffalo River (barrier four) looks to be drawn perfectly given that he will lead the race.

Index in 1970 & 1971 has been the only horse able to win consecutive Cranbourne Cups, while we have seen famous names such as Universal Mascot, Waikikamukau & Mourinho all take out this event.
