Sandown Value Bet - Race 3 No. 8 Miss Revealing

While talented, Miss Revealing still has not quite put it all together and, with the filly still not fully settling, coming back in distance on the fresh side could well suit.

The three-year-old got home with the fastest final 200m last time out in what looked a very strong edition of the Mornington Guineas taken out by Pavlich.

The runner-up from that event, Grand Omaha, was then stakes placed at his next start.

Prior to that, Miss Revealing failed to run out 1700m after being forced to go forward when not getting into a rhythm, which followed a return third on the Sandown Hillside circuit.

The runner-up from that event was Gold Coast Belle, who won her next three starts including the Listed Bendigo Guineas, and that form, along with Miss Revealing’s unlucky Group 3 fifth behind Sheza Alibi in spring, reads superbly for a BM78 against her own age and sex.

Sandown Best Bet - Race 4 No. 3 Gilded Water

Bred by the late Queen Elizabeth II and owned by King Charles III, Gilded Water kicks off his third Australian campaign on Saturday.

The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper has completed three autumn hit-outs, including a slick piece of work when taking out a 1400m trial on May 14.

After a second-up triumph in September, he was his own worst enemy when attempting to qualify for the Melbourne Cup in the Group 3 Bart Cummings, going too hard in front but still somehow sticking on for third.

That performance left him a little flat in the Geelong Cup as a beaten odds-on favourite, although he was still runner-up there.

Gilded Water has been given further time to mature and, while stablemate Shockletz might set up a little better on paper with a run under her belt and less weight, he looks the more talented of Maher’s pair.

Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 9 Bella Verona

This Matt Laurie-trained filly is well bred, being by Castelvecchio and from the same family as Shez Sinsational, a four-time Group 1 winner in New Zealand.

Shez Sinsational has also produced Group winners House Of Cartier and Csinarahma, while Bella Verona has shown her own fair share of ability.

She justified an odds-on quote when coming from the rear in a strong debut triumph at Cranbourne before heading straight to a three-year-old handicap at Caulfield on May 9.

Bella Verona should have completed the double there after settling a pair or two further back than anticipated before being held up at key stages and flashing home for second.

Of her threats, Berlemont is well placed back to handicap conditions after contesting the Mornington Guineas, while Hot Sand is a bolter to respect, as he looks to be crying out for headgear and now gets it with visors applied.

Sandown Roughie - Race 7 No. 14 Savour The Dream

Savour The Dream showed above-average ability when prepared in Queensland as a two and three-year-old.

The gelding recorded stylish back-to-back Brisbane wins in December 2024 and then on February 8 when returning the following year.

That latest triumph warranted a trip south for both the Australian Guineas and Rosehill Guineas, although he did not measure up in those Group 1 races.

After a short break and then a failed Doomben winter run, Savour The Dream was given plenty of time and also gelded ahead of his 2026 resumption, where he was well held at the Warrnambool Carnival but still produced a pass mark.

He gets a sharp 7.5kg drop in the weights second-up, brings a perfect two-from-two second-up record and still appeals as a progressive type in a race where many of his rivals have found their ceiling.

Stow Storage Solutions Handicap Tips (Race 8)

Sandown Favourite - Race 8 No. 13 King Zephyr

King Zephyr’s only two defeats on big tracks were a Listed flop at Flemington just over 12 months ago and an eye-catching second at Flemington last start.

He was unsuited back in distance and on testing ground in that Listed attempt, while the latest defeat still had merit as he made ground from the rear in a slowly run affair.

It was good to see him bounce back there after pulling up lame at Caulfield the start prior before a freshen-up.

King Zephyr brings a perfect three-from-three record on the Sandown Hillside circuit and the wide draw is ideal for his racing pattern.

Recon also deserves respect after being unlucky not to finish closer in The Goodwood last start, having gone to that Adelaide Group 1 off a stylish second-up win in the Hareeba Stakes, although 1400m and a sharp weight rise are queries.
