Quayclean Plate Tips (Race 1)
Belmont Best Bet - Race 1 No. 10 Luna Will Do
Despite impressing in two autumn trials, including a dominant 950m heat win at Lark Hill on April 20, Luna Will Do was a notable drifter in betting on debut.
A lack of experience was evident after a slightly tardy getaway on May 9, where the filly was never really threatening the more seasoned He’s A Machino.
That colt had already been stakes placed twice earlier in the preparation and brought superior race experience into the contest.
Luna Will Do still finished off strongly there, with the Adam Durrant-trained juvenile recording the fastest closing sectionals of the race.
The daughter of Playing God is open to natural improvement second-up, gets William Pike aboard and can settle much closer to the speed on Saturday.
Unite Resourcing Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Belmont Value Bet - Race 5 No. 2 Cleanemup
There was market confidence around Cleanemup in both April appearances, which was understandable given her smart Belmont trial victory.
The mare found 1000m too sharp first-up when spotting a start to the speedy Lord Shiva before rattling home into second on April 29.
She then stepped up in grade second-up and it is worth forgiving the May 16 performance.
Cleanemup never gained clear galloping room when she needed it and had little chance to fully extend in the straight.
The rise to 1200m suits on Saturday and all three of her career victories have come at Belmont.
Schweppes Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Belmont Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 5 Gi Gi Pops
Although Gi Gi Pops has a good cruising speed and has produced three honest runner-up finishes this campaign, she lacks the turn-of-foot to put fields away over shorter trips.
The rise to seven furlongs now looks a major positive and both of her career victories have come at the distance.
The form around her recent runs also reads well, with two winners produced from the April 18 runner-up effort where she cast a plate in running.
There was also no disgrace in finding Hot And High too strong last start, with that filly unbeaten from four starts and heading the market for a strong race earlier on the card.
Gi Gi Pops drops in grade here, while now approaching peak fitness and over her right distance, there are no excuses on Saturday.
Swan Draught Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Belmont Value Bet - Race 9 No. 6 Correct Choice
A line can be put through the May 2 resumption from Correct Choice, where the gelding never got clear running in the home straight.
While the form guide reads 10th-of-12, the five-year-old had genuine excuses and is rarely far away in this grade.
Correct Choice recorded two Saturday metropolitan victories last autumn and remained competitive in stronger races throughout his last campaign.
The form around runners such as Royal Toronado, Noteworthy and Eccentric Nature has all stacked up strongly at stakes level.
Three-kilogram claimer Cassie Martinan retains the ride, and the apprentice is striking at 24% in May with three metropolitan winners recorded.
