Sainty Cullity was disappointing second-up, but blinkers were removed on that occasion and the gelding may simply need headgear, with visors now applied.

That gear change had already been in effect, and he was respected in the market for the November 20 event following a first-up run that came with excuses.

He was dragged back early over a sprint trip on that return, which left him poorly placed to finish off the race.

Across his previous campaign, he placed in two of his last three starts, including a runner-up finish as favourite behind Fifth Essence.

That form reads well given Fifth Essence won two of his next three starts, while Sainty Cullity later covered ground for a narrow defeat as market elect in a Kalgoorlie maiden that has since produced five winners.

Pygmalion was runner-up in both appearances as a two-year-old before returning in the spring with a strong win at Northam.

That victory came off a solid betting push on October 5 and marked a clear step forward for the Lou Luciani-trained galloper.

The form was franked when runner-up Salty Miss won at her next start and then measured up again with an Ascot victory in Saturday 60+ company last weekend.

Pygmalion followed his fresh win with a strong chasing sixth at Ascot, recording the fastest last 200m, and also performed well third-up at Belmont.

He was a touch plain last start, but a freshen-up, drop in grade, return to 1100m, and the removal of blinkers all look positives.
