Ascot Best Bet - Race 3 No. 5 Truly Loyal
A well-bred debutant from a good family that includes February Listed winner London’s Image, Truly Loyal has been patiently handled by connections.
The three-year-old was spelled following a two-year-old trial in February last year and was given more time after a more encouraging display in October, with another break after that 400m hit-out.
That extra time appears to have helped him furnish, with Truly Loyal arriving here off a strong Lark Hill trial win on April 7.
He saluted by more than three lengths in what was the fastest 950m heat of that morning.
Champion hoop William Pike was aboard in that trial, and ‘The Wizard’ retains the ride for Wednesday’s first race day appearance in what isn’t a deep maiden.

Ascot Value Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Blazing Emerald
She has been a while between wins; however, Blazing Emerald has been racing exclusively at Saturday level since taking a Class 3 at Pinjarra in March last year.
The mare was also a 64+ metro winner at Ascot two starts later and now returns to midweek level.
Recent efforts suggest that another win is not far away, including her latest effort when an unlucky third-of-nine behind Holler Nuff.
That form reads well, with the winner completing a hat-trick last Saturday, while I Dreamed A Dream was runner-up there and again on April 4, finishing ahead of Blazing Emerald.
The Ascot resumption on February 28 also looks solid, with that race taken out by King Hit, who won his next two starts in Saturday company.
Morley Growers Market Handicap Tips (Race 7)
Ascot Roughie - Race 7 No. 7 Idodomya
This daughter of Maschino could still be a run short, which is reflected in the price available on Wednesday.
However, Idodomya is one of the lightly raced runners in the field who may have some upside.
There was promise in her first campaign, where she built nicely ahead of a start three victory over 2000m.
She was then thrown into the Group 3 WA Oaks and subsequently spelled after a sole spring appearance when well held.
Her April 2 resumption over a mile was more encouraging, finishing off with the third-fastest last 200m of that event, and she is worth respecting at long odds in an open race.
Drummond Golf Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Ascot Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 7 Flaming Ronda
This four-year-old has to take the step from a country maiden into a metro Class 1 Handicap, although it is a weak race.
The return victory at Geraldton suggests there is more to come, with Flaming Ronda justifying the odds-on quote on April 9.
She bolted in on that occasion and recorded the fastest last 400m of the meeting.
The runner-up franked that form by winning on Sunday.
While she did not break through in her first preparation, there was enough to like, and based on the recent trial and return win, Flaming Ronda has come back a more furnished galloper this time around.
