Fritz and Diallo resume their rivalry after an epic opening encounter at Wimbledon, which saw the American prevail in five sets before going on to make the semi-finals. It was an excellent grass swing for Fritz, who also won two titles in Stuttgart and Eastbourne, but his start to the North American summer - where he's defending US Open final points - hasn't been great. Diallo meanwhile is the last Canadian left standing in Toronto and also enjoyed a fruitful grass swing, winning his maiden ATP title in s-Hertogenbosch.
Equipped with a massive serve and big groundstrokes, Diallo showed he is more than capable of matching it with Fritz at Wimbledon - and I think he can challenge the American again in front of his home fans. Backing Diallo to win at least one set as the best bet here.

Fritz heads into this clash with a 33-13 record on the season, with the recent grass swing saving what had been a fairly average year up until that point.
Indeed, 13 of Fritz's 33 wins came during the grass swing, with the American winning two titles in Stuttgart and Eastbourne before reaching the semi-finals of Wimbledon, where it took Carlos Alcaraz to stop him in four sets.
Hoping to embark on another successful North American hardcourt summer, Fritz defeated Aleksandar Vukic and Matteo Arnaldi to make the Washington quarter-finals last week, but was ultimately upstaged by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
The Canada Open is the only Masters 1000 event Fritz hasn't made the quarter-finals of and he'll be looking to break that sequence this tournament. It wasn't the cleanest opening match for Fritz though - he needed to battle to a 7-6 7-5 win over Roberto Carballes Baena.
Gabriel Diallo Form
It's been a tremendous breakout season for Diallo, who has improved his ranking from No. 87 at the start of the year to a current mark of No. 36 after registering a 22-15 record.
After getting used to life at tour level to begin the season, Diallo really picked things up during the European summer, firstly making his maiden Masters 1000 quarter-final on the clay of Madrid before securing his first ATP title on the grass of s-Hertogenbosch.
Diallo also made the quarter-finals of Mallorca before pushing Fritz all the way in five sets in the first round of Wimbledon.
The 23-year-old went down to Ben Shelton in the R16 of Washington last week and got his Canada Masters campaign up and running with a 6-3 7-6 victory over Matteo Gigante.
