Andrey Rublev vs Felix Auger-Aliassime Tips, Prediction & Live Stream

A spot in the ATP 500 Hamburg Open final is on the line as Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger-Aliassime renew their rivalry in the semi-finals on Friday.

Both players were struggling considerably heading into this tournament, hence the decision to compete in the week before a slam. However, they've each produced some resurgent form and now have the chance to play for a big 500-level title.

These two are familiar foes - this will be the eighth meeting between the pair, with Rublev dominating the rivalry 6-1. However, all seven encounters have produced Over 23.5 total games, with six going the distance, so there clearly isn't much between them. Rublev has managed to hold his nerve in the crucial moments and he's had tremendous success at ATP 500 level - and at this Hamburg tournament, making the final in 2019 before capturing the title in 2020. I'm backing another close contest, but Rublev deserves to be considered the slight favourite.

Head To Head

As mentioned, Rublev leads 6-1, but all of the matches have gone three sets but one - and even that was a narrow 7-6 7-5 victory. Their most-recent clash came in the semi-finals of Doha earlier this year, with Rublev edging it 75 46 76(5).

Andrey Rublev Form

Rublev has improved his season record to 14-11 this week in Hamburg, raising his level for a much-needed confidence boost ahead of Roland Garros.

After a brilliant run to the ATP 500 title in Doha back in February, Rublev slipped back into bad old habits and proceeded to lose seven of his next nine matches.

The Russian lost his opening matches in Madrid and Rome and decided to compete in Hamburg in a bid to gain more match practice before the French Open.

It's proved to be a great move from Rublev - he's defeated rising star Justin Engel, veteran Damir Dzumhur and dangerous clay courter Luciano Darderi to advance into the semi-finals.

Felix Auger-Aliassime Form

Auger-Aliassime started the season on fire, winning two ATP titles in Adelaide and Montpellier across the first six weeks of 2025, sparking thoughts of a return to the top 10 at some stage.

However, like Rublev, the Canadian has struggled for consistency and went on a poor losing run, notably going 0-4 on clay before arriving in Hamburg.

All four of those defeats were against lower-ranked players, including No. 173 Andrea Pellegrino at the Estoril Challenger.

Auger-Aliassime has found his groove again in Hamburg, defeating Daniel Altmaier and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets before edging out Alexandre Muller 7-6(4), 6-7(8), 6-3 in the quarter-finals, recovering from blowing four match points in the second set.
