The selection came home nearly four lengths clear of his nearest rival on that occasion with his two most recent efforts coming on wet surfaces.
The quicker going expected here is no issue for the tough performer who delivered an improved effort on his first outing over this distance.
While the pick has to shoulder a big weight here he looks a cut above his rivals here and is taken to complete a double for a jockey/trainer combination who can boast a 34.5% strike-rate (10/29) when teaming up.
