Gosford Betting Tips for December 31, 2025 - Godolphin galloper a value pick in Race 5

New Year’s Eve racing at Gosford sees seven races on offer, with some promising gallopers set to line up in some BenchMark races and Maiden’s. 

With form still emerging in several races, the meeting shapes as a betting card where assessment is key.

Keen on Just Awesome in the opener. The promising colt resumes and had a two-start campaign in the winter, leading all the way at the track and trip before taking on Saturday class at Rosehill and battling into 6th behind Raging Force. This looks a suitable assignment for him to open up. He went faster than standard benchmark in both of those runs with the best of those 1.6 lengths faster on debut. No other runner has produced a better figure. The son of Written Tycoon comes in with a couple of very respectable trials and draws to get the gun run from barrier 3 with Tom Sherry to ride. 

Weekend Market shapes as a value player in Race 5. The Godolphin galloper has not delivered in his three starts to date but has had a few excuses in those and is open to improverment. She was well backed at the Beaumont track at Newcastle last time but resented being back on a slow tempo, racing keenly before showing early dash but fading late. The daughter of Brazen Beau pulled up with a poor recovery at Wyong priot to that and was ok when keen again in a stronger race on debut at Rosehill. This is her easiest assignment to date and she draws much better than her latest outing. The 3kg claimer, Siena Grima, rides and is two from seven for the stable, providing a 175.5% profit on investment for punters. 

Diva Las Vegas is set to deliver in the final race of the day. The four-year-old was an impressive debut winner at Newcastle over the 900m back in April and returned at Kembla Grange over the 1000m on December 11, placing 4th behind Big Red Tequila. She was slowly away that day after botching the start and settled back in the small field on what was a slow tempo, going 2.6 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. The winner out of that race has since placed 3rd in Saturday grade, while the runner-up has since come out and won. She should be open to improvement at her second run back and draws to box seat in barrier 4
