It doesn't get much bigger than this. In one corner you have Swiatek, who has only ever lost two matches at Indian Wells and gunning for her third title, while in the other you have Andreeva - the 17-year-old phenom who is taking the tennis world by storm, coming into this clash on a 10-match winning streak following her triumphant run in Dubai last month.

This has all the makings of a California classic, with both players surging to the semi-finals without relinquishing a single set. I think that changes for both here - and as a result, I'm backing Over 21.5 total games for the best bet. I just can't see either player taking this match in straights. Yes, Andreeva defeated Swiatek 6-3 6-3 last month in Dubai, but these slow, grippy courts in Indian Wells even the ledger for the Pole here. I have Swiatek as the slight favourite to avenge that Dubai defeat and edge this in three, advancing to what would be a third Indian Wells final.

Currently level at 1-1. Swiatek came out on top in a close battle at Cincinnati 2024, prevailing 4-6 6-3 7-5 before Andreeva returned serve with a stunning 6-3 6-3 demolition in Dubai last month.

Swiatek has registered an 18-4 record on the season heading into this contest.

Truth be told, she would be quite disappointed with how things have panned out so far, despite the big number of match wins.

Indeed, Swiatek lost in the Australian Open semi-finals from match point up against Madison Keys, while she failed to take home any silverware in the Middle East, losing in the semi-finals of Doha to Jelena Ostapenko and quarter-finals of Dubai to Andreeva.

However, Swiatek has returned to some of best tennis in the Coachella Valley, bolting into the semi-finals without dropping a set in clinical victories over Caroline Garcia, Dayana Yastremska, Karolina Muchova and Qinwen Zheng, avenging her Olympics defeat to the Chinese player with a 6-3 6-3 triumph in the quarter-finals.

One less win and one less defeat for Andreeva, who enters this encounter with a 17-3 record on the season.

It took Aryna Sabalenka to stop Andreeva in the semi-finals of Brisbane and the fourth round of the Australian Open, while she was stopped in the second round of Doha by Rebecca Sramkova - and that was the last time she lost a match.

The 17-year-old blitzed the field in Dubai to capture her first WTA 1000 crown - conquering Swiatek and Elena Rybakina along the way - and she's backed it up with an equally-brilliant run in Indian Wells.

Indeed, Andreeva has become the youngest player since 2005 to record a double-digit winning streak on tour, toppling Varvara Gracheva, Clara Tauson, Rybakina and Elina Svitolina in straight sets to reach the semis.
