Joao Fonseca vs Raphael Collignon Tips, Prediction & Live Stream - Fonseca's struggles to continue
The highly anticipated face-off between Joao Fonseca and Raphael Collignon at Indian Wells promises excitement. Despite Fonseca being a teenage phenom, his recent form has been lackluster due to a lingering back injury. Meanwhile, Collignon, a late bloomer, is steadily making his mark with a formidable display in recent months. Having won more matches than he's lost against top opponents, Collignon appears poised to capitalize on Fonseca's current vulnerability and secure a victory.

Joao Fonseca vs Raphael Collignon Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Joao Fonseca has a tough opening round at Indian Wells as the teenage phenom comes up against the rising Raphael Collignon on Wednesday.
Fonseca sky-rocketed into the world's top 30 last year amidst various eye-catching results that had many experts predicting him to multiple major champion in the near future. However, a back injury struck Fonseca down during preseason and he seemingly hasn't fully recovered, winning just one match for 2026 heading into this tournament.
Meanwhile, Collignon continues to impress and I have him ending the year in the top 40 - possibly even higher. The 24-year-old is somewhat of a late bloomer, but he's put his powerful game together over the last six months and looks ready for big things this year.
I can't take Fonseca as the favourite here. The Brazilian is down on confidence and just lost to the World No. 91 at his home tournament in Rio. If he can't win in favourable conditions, then there's no reason to think anything changes here against a far superior opponent. Collignon has won more matches than he's lost against top 50 opponents and the high bounce in the desert should suit his powerful game. Backing the Belgian for the win.

After ending last year by winning the ATP 500 title in Basel and rising into the top 25, big things were expected early for Fonseca this season.
However, that hasn't come close to eventuating, partly due to a lingering back injury that surfaced during the offseason.
Fonseca was forced to withdraw from Brisbane and Adelaide before losing in the first round of the Australian Open and Buenos Aires, the latter where he was defending champion.
The 19-year-old managed to claim his first win over veteran countryman Thiago Monteiro in Rio, but he was beaten in three sets by the inexperienced Ignacio Buse in the second round.

Collignon will be making his Indian Wells Masters debut this tournament after quietly rising through the ranks over the last six months.
The Belgian took the scalps of Alex de Minaur and Casper Ruud in Davis Cup and US Open action respectively and also made the Brussels semi-finals in an impressive end to the year.
Collignon launched 2026 by reaching the Brisbane quarter-finals, but a minor foot injury surfaced and caused him to retire against Lorenzo Musetti at the Australian Open and being in control for most of the match.
The 24-year-old returned to action at the Pau Challenger last week and surged to the title without dropping a single set.
