Sportsbet Festival of Footy parody advert
- Sportsbet's 20 Days of Footy advert parodies the AFL's promotion
- Mick Molloy, Dane Swan, Daniel Gorringe, The Suburban Footballer, Goccsy and Jacob Bevis all star
- Important advice is provided to stay at home
Sportsbet have launched its very own parody advert to poke fun at the AFL’s ‘Festival of Footy’ promotion on Channel Nine.
Sportsbet got Mick Molloy, Dane Swan and Daniel Gorringe as well as social media stars The Suburban Footballer, Goccsy and Jacob Bevis for the campaign on board for the advert to promote the betting
The "20 Days of Footy - We Will Get Through This" video was written and produced by the Sportsbet creative and production teams.
It features the advice to "wash your hands of all your domestic duties", "keep your distance of your mates and their obscure Sportsbet multis" and the promise that "we will get through this".
"It’s not much, but it’s honest work. If we can just one fan AFL fan keep up with 20 days straight of footy, it’ll all be worth it," said sportsbet.com.au’s Rich Hummerston.
Talking about the campaign, Sportsbet added: "It was the TVC seemingly played in every ad break of lockdown 1.0, a host of channel 9 stars encouraging viewers to stick together during these difficult times.
"Well when the AFL announced their 'Festival of Footy', 20 straight days of AFL, Australians were faced with a new challenge; how are we going to watch all that footy.
"So Sportsbet dutifully reached out to the biggest footy tragics in the land, and asked them to record their own encouraging messages to footy fans across the country."
