Ascot Favourite - Race 4 No. 2 Prince Of Dala
Prince Of Dala is one of the more interesting runners on Saturday's Ascot program, with the Stephen Miller-trained galloper returning in a One Metro Win assignment that looks considerably easier than the race he was targeting before a hoof abscess forced his scratching last week.
The four-year-old showed considerable promise during his first preparation, winning three of five appearances and arguably unlucky not to have recorded a fourth victory after finding trouble when fourth at Belmont on his third start.
He quickly atoned with another Class 3 success at Belmont before stepping straight into the Listed Belmont Guineas on June 20, where we were on him at decent odds and he looked to have pinched the race before being caught in the final stride by Hot And High.
That narrow defeat has developed into an excellent form reference, with Hot And High subsequently establishing herself as one of Western Australia's most promising gallopers, winning eight of nine starts overall and emerging as a leading Railway Stakes contender.
There is a slight query around Prince Of Dala's fitness following the interrupted return and his lead-up trial, but he has already carried substantial weights successfully, and the 60.5kg should not prevent him from making a winning return if anywhere near his best.
Tabtouch - Westspeed Platinum Series Heat 2 Tips (Race 5)
Ascot Value Bet - Race 5 No. 1 Helluva Goddess
Albany trainer Paul Hunter has two leading chances in Saturday's Westspeed Platinum Series heat, and the less-fancied Helluva Goddess appeals as an attractive prospect following an unlucky first-up appearance.
The daughter of Playing God was heavily supported when resuming at Ascot on October 24, but little went right after she covered additional ground and was subsequently crowded for room late when a tiring runner impeded her progress.
That performance should provide a solid fitness foundation, with the five-year-old having demonstrated her ability to improve sharply second-up when bouncing back from a midfield return to win over this track and distance in December last year.
Her overall record is particularly encouraging, with four victories and a placing from nine appearances, while both of her previous defeats outside the placings during her earlier campaigns came in Stakes company, apart from that first-up effort last November.
The 3kg claim from Jefferson Tsang brings her weight down to 56.5kg, and with barrier four providing an opportunity to secure an economical stalking position, Helluva Goddess should get her chance.

Ascot Best Bet - Race 7 No. 6 Ourgirlcanrun
A strong second-up record makes Ourgirlcanrun particularly appealing in Saturday's 1200m contest, with the Mitchell Pateman-trained mare expected to strip considerably fitter after an encouraging return at Ascot on October 17.
The daughter of Long Leaf crossed from a wide barrier to lead that Benchmark 66+ assignment, setting a strong tempo before her condition gave out late, although she battled on for third behind Rock Fest and Hurricane Harley.
That form has since been strengthened by Rock Fest winning again at Ascot, while the runner-up had the benefit of greater race fitness and has also shown sufficient ability to compete respectably in stronger company.
Ourgirlcanrun is unbeaten in two previous second-up appearances, including an impressive victory over this track and distance in April before completing a winning double at Belmont, while her best performances have generally come over shorter distances despite remaining competitive when stretched out during last year's carnival.
Barrier six should allow Holly Watson to make use of the mare's natural gate speed and establish a prominent position, while there are queries around key rivals Fast Harry, who returns to 1200m on a quick turnaround with blinkers applied, and So Si God, who rises in grade from an outside draw.
Technical Mechanical Maintenance - Luckygray Stakes Tips (Race 8)
Ascot Roughie - Race 8 No. 11 Rocking Society
The Listed Luckygray Stakes appears more open than early betting suggests, with short-priced favourite Aberdeen Flyer bringing strong late three-year-old form but still having recorded only one victory from 11 career appearances.
That leaves room for an upset over 1800m, and Rocking Society appeals at a substantial price after an encouraging third on his October 17 return, particularly given the Jason Miller-trained gelding has never been a noted first-up performer.
While he may still be a run or two short of peak fitness, the six-year-old has placed in three of four previous second-up attempts, while his two appearances over the Ascot 1800m have produced a victory and a second-place finish.
His previous campaign was long and demanding without producing another win, but he remained competitive throughout, including a Stakes placing over this track and distance after finishing fourth of 15 in the Group 2 Perth Cup, followed by respectable Listed performances in the Bunbury Cup and Pinjarra Cup.
Rocking Society is a genuine, tactically versatile galloper who regularly performs well at Ascot, and with proven effectiveness over the trip and a favourable weight of 54kg, he looks capable of featuring prominently at attractive each-way odds.
AFGRI Equipment - Lee Steere Stakes Tips (Race 9)
Ascot Feature Bet - Race 9 No. 6 King Of Light
King Of Light is arguably the most exciting galloper in Western Australia, with the Daniel Morton-trained four-year-old chasing a third consecutive victory this preparation in Saturday's Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes.
The son of Earthlight opened his campaign with an impressive Idyllic Prince Stakes victory on August 22 before a setback disrupted plans for a possible Sydney campaign and a tilt at the Golden Eagle.
Any concerns surrounding that interruption disappeared when he returned to win the Eurythmic Stakes on October 17, producing his trademark turn-of-foot to overcome trouble and claim another convincing victory, with further encouragement coming from Bonjoy's subsequent performance in the Asian Beau Stakes.
He defeated key rivals Watch Me Rock and Western Empire in that latest assignment, and while both are talented established gallopers capable of producing strong performances on their day, King Of Light appears to have considerably more upside as he continues to develop.
His only defeat came when disappointing as favourite in last year's Group 1 Northerly Stakes, following a demanding preparation, but that form has subsequently strengthened through Cosmic Crusader, and with another run behind him, King Of Light only needs to reproduce his Eurythmic performance to prove extremely difficult to beat.
