Pearsons Nursery Maiden Plate Tips (Race 1)
Warrnambool Value Bet - Race 1 No. 5 Plucky Enuff
Two encouraging performances to begin her career suggest Plucky Enuff is progressing towards a maiden victory, with the Robbie Griffiths-trained mare finding a suitable assignment in Friday's 1400m opener.
The four-year-old made her debut over 1200m at Seymour last month, settling back in the field before closing strongly to finish fourth behind Real Comedy in a performance that suggested she would appreciate additional ground.
Stepping up to 1400m at Pakenham last start, the mare again produced a competitive effort to finish fifth, sticking on well and recording a performance within four lengths of standard benchmark figures.
That latest rating compares favourably with anything her rivals have produced to date, while the maiden appears to lack the depth of her previous assignments, giving Plucky Enuff a genuine opportunity to break through at her third appearance.
Dean Yendall takes the ride following a Melbourne Cup Day winner at Flemington, and with barrier two providing a better opportunity to settle closer than in her previous two starts, the mare looks capable of improving further and proving difficult to beat.

Warrnambool Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 2 Kid Dynamite
A return to his preferred 1000m distance at Warrnambool should see Kid Dynamite prove difficult to beat, with the lightly raced five-year-old having recorded both career victories over the sprint trip.
The son of Hallowed Crown has shown considerable ability in seven appearances and resumed over this track and distance recently, producing a strong performance when narrowly denied by Salaria.
That effort was particularly encouraging on the figures, with Kid Dynamite recording a performance approximately five lengths faster than standard benchmark time and showing he had returned in excellent order.
There is also considerable scope for improvement second-up, having progressed by more than four lengths on the figures at the same stage of his previous preparation when an unlucky runner-up at Seymour.
With a strong first-up performance behind him, proven effectiveness at 1000m and form suggesting he can handle rain-affected conditions if required, Kid Dynamite looks well placed to register his third career victory.

Warrnambool Best Bet - Race 6 No. 7 Azzacool
Azzacool looks capable of improving sharply second-up for Ciaron Maher after an encouraging return at Mildura, where a difficult run prevented the four-year-old from producing her best over 1200m.
The daughter of Aza Beel finished sixth behind Razzo Rosso in that assignment, having drawn awkwardly and been forced to cover considerable ground throughout, although she continued to battle on despite the tough passage.
There has already been encouragement from the form, with the Mildura contest subsequently producing two winners, suggesting her finishing position did not fully reflect the strength of the opposition.
Her first preparation also demonstrated considerable improvement with racing, progressing from a fourth on debut at Yarra Valley to consecutive victories at Seymour and Pakenham before stepping into stronger metropolitan company against the likes of Extragalactic at Flemington.
Now with a run behind her, Azzacool should be fitter and capable of settling closer to the speed if she can secure a favourable position early, while a return to the form that produced her two previous victories would make her particularly competitive in this Benchmark 66 assignment.
