The 2026 Sandown 500, part of the Supercars Championship Finals Series, sees Broc Feeney tipped to win Saturday's Race 33 following his Gold Coast victory and strong Sandown record. Feeney's momentum and previous success at the Melbourne circuit make him the primary selection. However, with showers forecast, Chaz Mostert is highlighted as a significant alternative, having dominated the wet Gold Coast opener and won Saturday's Sandown race in 2025. Both drivers are recommended in the race-winner market, with weather conditions likely to influence the outcome.

Sandown 500 2026 Preview & Predictions - Feeney Favourite, Mostert the Wet Weather Threat

Broc Feeney is backed to win Saturday's opening race at the 2026 Sandown 500, but Chaz Mostert is our outside selection after dominating the wet Gold Coast opener. Both drivers are worth supporting in the race-winner market, particularly with rain forecast for Saturday.

The Supercars Championship heads to Sandown Raceway in Melbourne from November 6-8 for the penultimate round of the season and the second stage of the Finals Series.

Seven drivers remain in championship contention, but only four will progress to the Adelaide Grand Final. Matt Payne leads the standings by 30 points over Feeney, with Brodie Kostecki and Mostert currently occupying the remaining qualifying positions.

Two 250km races are scheduled across the weekend, with Saturday's Race 33 shaping as the more unpredictable contest. Showers are forecast, and changing conditions could play a major role in determining the winner.

Sandown 500 2026 Key Stats

  • Matt Payne leads the championship by 30 points over Broc Feeney.
  • Seven drivers remain in Finals contention, with only four progressing to Adelaide.
  • Broc Feeney won the Sunday race at Sandown in 2025.
  • Chaz Mostert won Saturday's Sandown race in 2025.
  • Mostert dominated the wet Gold Coast opener by approximately 23 seconds.
  • Saturday's Sandown race features 79 laps and two compulsory pit stops.

Sandown 500 Saturday Race Winner Tips

Broc Feeney is our leading selection to win Saturday's Race 33, with Chaz Mostert backed as the outside chance if wet conditions develop.

Feeney arrives with plenty of momentum after winning the Gold Coast finale, where he controlled the race and finished almost seven seconds ahead of Kostecki.

The Triple Eight driver also won the Sunday race at Sandown last season, giving him a strong recent record at the Melbourne circuit.

With the championship battle tightening, another victory would provide the ideal opportunity to secure his place in the Adelaide Grand Final.

However, Mostert represents a serious alternative.

The Toyota driver was outstanding in the wet at the Gold Coast, taking the lead early and building a commanding advantage over the field.

He also won Saturday's Sandown race in 2025, making him particularly interesting if the forecast showers arrive during Race 33.

Feeney remains the preferred selection based on overall form, but Mostert offers an appealing second option given his recent wet-weather performance.

Verdict

Broc Feeney is backed to win Saturday's opening Sandown race after his Gold Coast victory and previous success at the circuit. Chaz Mostert is the second race-winner selection, with his dominant wet-weather performances.
