Novak Djokovic faces Valentin Vacherot in the ATP Paris Masters opening round, with over 22.5 games recommended as the main bet. Vacherot, who recently claimed the Basel title and leads Djokovic 1-0 in their head-to-head after a Shanghai Masters win, is also considered good value for the upset. Novak Djokovic vs Valentin Vacherot ATP Paris Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Over 22.5 games is the best bet for this marquee Paris Masters opening round, with Valentin Vacherot also good value for the upset against seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.
Huge match this one. Vacherot is on fire following his title triumph in Basel last week, while Djokovic is making a last-ditch effort to secure his spot at the ATP Finals in Turin.
Since Wimbledon, Djokovic has lost to the likes of Mariano Navone, Thiago Agustin Tirante, Jan-Lennard Struff and Hubert Hurkacz - there's no doubt he's vulnerable right now and Vacherot on current form is more than capable of repeating his Shanghai Masters triumph over the Serbian from last year.
Djokovic vs Vacherot Predictions & Best Bets
| Bet | Odds | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Over 22.5 Games | $1.70 @ Unibet | Djokovic has seen 23+ games in four of his last five completed matches, while Vacherot has gone over this total in nine of his last 13 outings |
| Vacherot Win | $2.70 @ Dabble | Vacherot has a 5-3 record in his last eight matches vs top 20 players & won the 500 Basel title last week, while Djokovic has a 3-4 record in his last seven matches vs players ranked 20+ - take Beijing out of the equation (where he's unbeaten) and the Serbian has been decidedly average since Wimbledon |

Novak Djokovic Form Analysis
- 2026 ATP Record: 20-9
- ATP Paris Record: 50-9
- Current Ranking: No. 11
- Career-High Ranking: No. 1 (2011)
Djokovic is in the unusual position (for him) in needing a deep Paris Masters run in order to qualify for the ATP Finals.
The 39-year-old needs to at the very least make the semi-finals to keep his unlikely bid to feature in Turin alive, but depending on the results of other contenders - namely Alex de Minaur & Rafa Jodar - he could need to take the title.
Winning the Paris Masters title is nothing out of the ordinary for Djokovic - he's done so on seven previous occasions and on his most-recent appearance at the tournament in 2023.
But this is obviously a different Djokovic - someone who has struggled physically and for his best tennis over the last few months. The Serbian's indoor swing didn't get off to a great start in Basel - after battling past Ugo Humbert in three sets, he went down in a final-set tiebreak to Jan-Lennard Struff, someone he had previously led 8-0 in their H2H.
Valentin Vacherot Form Analysis
- 2026 ATP Record: 29-18
- ATP Paris Record: 3-1
- Current Ranking: No. 27
- Career-High Ranking: No. 14 (Oct 2026)
Considering he was struggling with injury for a lot of this year, Vacherot has done an excellent job of maintaining a top 30 ranking after his Shanghai Masters title points dropped off from last year.
Of course it was Vacherot's title run in Basel last week that propelled him back inside the top 30.
It was a brilliant run for the 27-year-old - he beat the likes of Rafael Jodar, Taylor Fritz, Holger Rune and Jiri Lehecka to secure the silverware.
Vacherot will now look to finish the year on another high - he was impressive on his Paris Masters debut last year, making the quarter-finals.
