Ascot hosts a nine-race Melbourne Cup Day program on Tuesday, November 3, with the Listed Burgess Queen Stakes providing the feature attraction for three-year-old fillies.
The meeting offers an interesting mix of emerging talent and established performers, with several lightly raced runners looking to build on promising spring form as Perth's racing carnival gathers momentum.

Ascot Tips November 3
Bisley Workwear Maiden Tips (Race 3)
Ascot Value Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Brave Move
A return to racing at 1200m looks a suitable starting point for Brave Move, who showed enough ability during his initial preparation to suggest he can breakthrough here.
The Neville Parnham-trained gelding made an encouraging debut when runner-up in Saturday two-year-old company at Belmont, before disappointing as favourite at his second appearance when dropping back in distance.
Stepping up to 1400m at his third start brought an improved performance, with Brave Move finishing third against Saturday opposition at Belmont on June 13 in a race that has since produced four subsequent winners.
That form stands up well for this assignment, while an October 16 trial provided a useful foundation for his return without being placed under significant pressure, with Chris Parnham retaining the ride after partnering the gelding in that hit-out.
Barrier eight should allow Parnham to position Brave Move within striking distance and make his own luck, and with natural improvement expected from his first preparation, he appeals as an each-way proposition.
Swan Draught Handicap Tips (Race 5)
Ascot Best Bet - Race 5 No. 10 Pucker Up
A rise to 1400m second-up looks ideal for Pucker Up, who produced one of the more eye-catching performances at Ascot on October 14 and should take plenty of beating in a modest Class 3 handicap.
The Daniel Morton-trained filly was disadvantaged by a slowly run race on that occasion, settling towards the rear before producing the fastest final 800m and 600m of the meeting to finish a narrow second behind Official Business.
There was considerable merit in that effort, particularly given she was resuming from a break, while her previous juvenile performances had already suggested she possessed the ability to measure up against better opposition.
A daughter of Blue Point, Pucker Up has always shaped as though she would appreciate stretching out in distance, and the additional 200m should give her more time to work through her gears before producing her strong finishing burst.
Although still a maiden, she finds a Class 3 contest lacking depth and appears to have considerably more upside than most of her rivals, making this an excellent opportunity to break through before progressing to stronger races during the carnival.
Tabtouch - Burgess Queen Stakes Tips (Race 8)
Ascot Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 14 Profit Motive
Several promising fillies arrive at Tuesday's Listed Burgess Queen Stakes with genuine claims, but few have produced a more impressive recent performance than Profit Motive, who made an emphatic return at Belmont on October 21.
The Mitchell Pateman-trained filly travelled strongly before asserting her superiority in the closing stages, defeating Lady Torque by more than two lengths while appearing to have considerably more to offer despite the comfortable winning margin.
That result carries some substance, with Lady Torque twice placed at Group 3 level during her first preparation, suggesting Profit Motive's maiden success could provide a strong platform for the rise into stakes company.
There had already been encouragement in her trial work leading into the campaign, indicating she had developed significantly since a promising debut fourth at Belmont in July, and her first-up victory confirmed that impression.
Holly Watson maintains the association from barrier six, and while the opposition is considerably stronger here, the additional 200m to 1400m should be within her capabilities, with her impressive acceleration and scope for further improvement making her a leading contender.
Brooks Hire Handicap Tips (Race 9)
Ascot Roughie - Race 9 No. 10 Miss Billie Jean
A kinder barrier and a rise to 1500m could bring about a much stronger performance from Miss Billie Jean, who has shown enough in two appearances to suggest she can be competitive despite remaining a maiden.
The Aaron Mitchell-trained filly attracted significant market support before her debut at Northam on September 23, where she hit a flat spot over 1300m before finding the line strongly to finish runner-up behind Empire Of Rome.
That performance has since received a form boost, with Empire Of Rome subsequently scoring impressively at Belmont, while Miss Billie Jean's second appearance at Ascot on October 14 was better than the sixth-place finish suggests.
Forced to cover considerable ground after drawing wide, she remained competitive for longer than expected over 1400m, and that experience should stand her in good stead as she continues to develop and stretch out in distance.
Clint Johnston-Porter takes over from barrier two after partnering the filly in her September 14 trial victory, and with an economical run now possible, Miss Billie Jean looks capable of delivering a much-improved result at generous odds.
