Hobart stages an eight-race program on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday, November 3, with the Goodwood Handicap over 1100m providing the feature attraction in the final race.
The track is currently rated a Soft 5, with the rail out 11 metres for the entire circuit, making positioning and the ability to handle rain-affected conditions important considerations.
Our selections and form analysis cover four races on Tuesday's program, while our

Kevin Sharkie Maiden Tips (Race 2)
Hobart Value Bet - Race 2 No. 3 Upheaval
An encouraging trial at Longford suggests Upheaval is ready to produce a competitive fresh performance, with the John Blacker-trained gelding having shown enough ability during his previous preparation to warrant consideration at attractive odds.
The four-year-old recorded several respectable performances earlier this year, including a fifth over 1400m at Hobart in August when beaten less than two lengths on Soft ground.
That race has since produced two subsequent maiden winners, with third-place finisher Sir William and sixth-placed Unfiltered both going on to break through at Launceston, adding substance to Upheaval's previous form.
A fourth over this distance in February demonstrated his ability to compete over shorter trips, while his first-up performance last preparation was particularly encouraging when beaten less than a length over 1100m at Hobart.
Although a more favourable barrier would have been preferred, Upheaval has previously performed well from wider draws, and with Erica Byrne Burke taking the ride, he looks capable of making his presence felt on his return.

Hobart Best Bet - Race 3 No. 4 Rousing Levi
A return to maiden company brought an encouraging first-up performance from Rousing Levi, who looks ideally placed to improve second-up after encountering traffic problems when resuming at Launceston last month.
The Leanne Gaffney-trained gelding showed ability over longer distances during his previous preparation, including a third over 2000m in a Class 1 and Maiden event at Hobart in January when beaten just over a length.
His subsequent appearances came in the Launceston Guineas and Tasmanian Derby, where he found the opposition too strong, making the return to a considerably more suitable maiden assignment an obvious positive.
There was plenty of merit in his latest fourth against 13 rivals at Launceston, with the gelding held up for a clear passage in the straight before finishing strongly, while winner Shines Discreetly subsequently boosted the form with another victory at the same venue on Friday.
That performance should have brought him forward considerably in fitness, and having already demonstrated his effectiveness on rain-affected ground, Rousing Levi looks capable of breaking through with a more favourable passage.

Hobart Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 2 Fiorente De Legend
Two top-three finishes from as many appearances this preparation suggest Fiorente De Legend is approaching another victory, with the six-year-old mare returning to a venue where she has enjoyed considerable success.
All four of her previous wins have come at Hobart, including a narrow Benchmark 64 triumph over 1390m in February, demonstrating her effectiveness around this circuit against opposition of comparable ability.
That victory was recorded on Good ground, although the daughter of Fiorente has also produced competitive performances on rain-affected surfaces, making Tuesday's Soft 5 rating a suitable prospect.
Her latest appearance was particularly encouraging when beaten less than a length over 1620m at Launceston, improving on her first-up performance despite facing only three rivals, while an inside barrier should allow her to settle comfortably and conserve energy for the finish.
Premiership leader Erica Byrne Burke returns to the saddle after partnering the mare to her February victory, and with Fiorente De Legend now fitter third-up and back at her preferred venue, the pair look well placed to score another success together.

Hobart Feature Bet - Race 8 No. 9 Georgaroni
A return to Hobart could bring about a much stronger performance from Georgaroni, whose impressive record at the venue suggests he is capable of making his presence felt at generous odds in Tuesday's 1100m Goodwood Handicap.
The five-year-old has already recorded multiple victories this year, including consecutive successes over 1400m and 1620m at Launceston in April, while his overall record demonstrates an ability to perform effectively on Good, Soft and Heavy ground.
His preparation ended following a disappointing effort at Hobart in May, and he made his return over 1100m at Launceston on October 16, finishing seventh after settling towards the rear and struggling to make an impression.
There has since been some encouragement from that form, with third-place finisher Mastretta subsequently winning a Benchmark 68 at Launceston, while Georgaroni should also benefit from having that first-up outing under his belt.
Although his strongest recent performances have come over longer distances, he has previously won over 1100m and finished third over this course and distance in February, with a favourable barrier giving him an opportunity to reproduce that form at attractive odds.
