Eagle Farm’s ten-race programme on Saturday, November 7, features Southern Heiress as the main tip in Race 5, with her recent fast finishes, drop in weight and ideal distance cited as key advantages. Esjay is considered in Race 6, returning to preferred conditions after a forgivable last run, while Easy Love is expected to perform well in Race 8, returning to a track that suits her. Swift Dragon is a speculative selection in Race 10, with blinkers and a recent trial win providing hope for improvement. Each selection is supported by recent form and specific race conditions.

Eagle Farm takes centre stage in Brisbane on Saturday, November 7, with a 10-race program featuring a mix of established performers and progressive gallopers chasing further success.

The Chris Ward Classic and several competitive handicap contests shape an interesting afternoon, with strong recent form lines and the prospect of improving runners adding plenty of intrigue.

Our Eagle Farm betting tips and form analysis are below, while the Daily Racing Multi brings together leading combinations from multiple programs.

Eagle Farm Best Bet - Race 5 No. 14 Southern Heiress

Southern Heiress looks ready to return to winning form third-up, with the talented mare showing encouraging signs since joining the Tony Gollan stable after failing to build on her early promise as a two and three-year-old.

The daughter of Snitzel initially showed considerable ability before losing her way, although her previous failure over 1300m can be forgiven given she was fourth of 11 during the Magic Millions Carnival earlier this year, having not quite come up in that campaign.

Her first two appearances for Gollan have been particularly encouraging, recording the fastest final 600m of the September 30 program at Doomben before repeating that achievement in a fillies and mares' Benchmark 78 at the same venue on October 17.

The rise to 1300m appears ideal following those two powerful finishing efforts, while she remains in Benchmark 78 company and drops 3.5kg, giving her a favourable weight advantage over several rivals.

Barrier one should allow Angela Jones to settle Southern Heiress closer to the speed, and with further fitness improvement expected, the move to the bigger Eagle Farm circuit looks another positive for a mare capable of producing a strong finish.

Eagle Farm Value Bet - Race 6 No. 3 Esjay

A return to more suitable conditions could see Esjay improve sharply after struggling on a very testing surface last start, with the six-year-old's earlier spring performances suggesting he remains a serious winning chance.

The gelding opened his preparation in the Listed Weetwood Handicap at Toowoomba, recording the second-fastest final 400m of the program before producing another excellent effort at Eagle Farm on October 10, when he finished with the fastest final 200m of his Listed assignment.

His third-up performance on October 24 was disappointing, although he drifted noticeably in betting and appeared uncomfortable on Heavy 10, making that run worth forgiving given his established effectiveness on less testing surfaces.

Although he has won over 1600m, his record suggests 1400m is particularly suitable, having finished in the placings in all six previous attempts over the distance at Eagle Farm, including two victories.

His racing pattern means he will always need some luck from off the speed, but a drop to 56.5kg after Jace McMurray's claim leaves him favourably weighted, and he's more than capable of atoning in a race of this nature.

Eagle Farm Next Best Bet - Race 8 No. 9 Easy Love

She looks well placed to bounce back at Eagle Farm, with the David Vandyke-trained mare returning to a circuit that suits her racing style after an unlucky second-up defeat at Doomben.

The five-year-old opened her preparation with an impressive 1400m Class 3 victory at Eagle Farm, producing a sharp turn of foot in a contest that has subsequently supplied two winners.

Her latest performance was better than the result suggests, having settled further back than anticipated and overraced before being left with too much ground to make up against rivals who enjoyed more favourable runs.

Ryan Maloney taking the ride is another positive, with the experienced jockey recording eight victories at a 31% strike rate during October before winning two of his first three rides in November.

Although Easy Love proved frustrating for punters at short prices last season, she remained consistent and recorded two victories, while her encouraging lead-up trial and fresh effort indicated that she had returned stronger.

Eagle Farm Roughie - Race 10 No. 4 Swift Dragon

Swift Dragon is a speculative proposition after two disappointing performances this preparation, although a freshen-up and the addition of blinkers could spark a considerable turnaround from the lightly raced three-year-old.

The gelding has not raced since failing in the Toowoomba Guineas on September 26, but there was encouragement in his October 13 Sunshine Coast trial, where he won comfortably with blinkers applied.

He showed genuine ability as a two-year-old, highlighted by an impressive performance over this distance on March 14 when comfortably accounting for Esperanza, a talented filly who subsequently won twice at Eagle Farm during October.

The son of Dracarys always appeared likely to benefit from further physical and mental maturity, and while his early three-year-old form has been disappointing, his previous performances suggest he possesses considerably more ability than those results indicate.

Saturday's assignment has plenty of depth, hence his quote, and while he got by on raw ability, his two-year-old season indicated that he was a horse who would need some headgear, which he now has.
