CrownBet has officially made its return to Australia’s betting scene after a February 2026 relaunch, marking the revival of one of the nation’s most recognisable wagering brands.

The comeback is driven by Betfair Australia - owned by Crown Resorts - in partnership with leading technology provider BetMakers, who have signed an exclusive five-year agreement to power the new platform.

The relaunched CrownBet operate as a premium fixed-odds and tote sportsbook, complementing Betfair’s world-class exchange and offering Australian punters a more comprehensive betting experience.

The new CrownBet is powered by BetMakers’ Apollo wagering platform, delivering an end-to-end solution that combines fixed-odds betting, tote integration, advanced trading tools and an intuitive front-end design.

The partnership represents a major milestone for both companies, with BetMakers’ technology set to form the backbone of CrownBet’s operations.

“This partnership is a major endorsement of our strategy and a milestone for the Apollo platform,” said BetMakers COO Martin Tripp, highlighting its scalability and performance.

For Betfair Australia, the CrownBet relaunch is a strategic move to diversify its offering and meet the evolving demands of Australian punters.

“Betfair is evolving to meet the changing needs of customers by introducing a new fixed-odds product under the CrownBet brand,” said Betfair CEO Amy Zavros. “BetMakers was the clear choice to deliver a top-tier product from day one.”

Once one of Australia’s biggest online bookmakers, CrownBet disappeared from the market in 2018 after merging with BetEasy, which was later acquired by Sportsbet in 2020.

Its return, backed by Crown Resorts and Betfair, is expected to shake up the industry once again, with analysts tipping strong competition for market share across racing and major sports betting.

CrownBet is back just in time for the start of the new NRL & AFL seasons and Autumn Spring Racing Carnival, with the NRL kicking off with two games in Las Vegas on March 1 AEDT.

“We’re thrilled to bring CrownBet back to Australian punters at the most electrifying moment in the sporting calendar," Zavros continued.
"With sophisticated tech, deep market coverage and the backing of one of the country’s most trusted entertainment brands, we’re setting a new benchmark for what a wagering experience should feel like.”
