Sandown Tips April 9
Vale Weekend Hussler Tips (Race 5)
Sandown Next Best Bet - Race 5 No. 4 Figlio D'argento
It was a very stylish debut victory from this three-year-old, who ran the fastest last 200m of the entire October 1 program from Tatura when saluting over 1100m.
Figlio D'argento was given time after failing on heavy ground at start two and both February workouts were encouraging leading into his Flemington resumption last month.
He was in the worst part of the straight via a fifth-of-eight finish on March 8, while Gallant Son also wasn't in the best ground there and that galloper was stakes placed at his next start.

Sandown Best Bet - Race 6 No. 13 Heavenly Shades
Spelled after being well-held in a strong Mornington maiden back in October, Heavenly Shades resumed with a dominant breakthrough win at Pakenham over 1200m.
She recorded the second-fastest last 400m of the February 27 program and following that, the Moody & Coleman-trained filly sustained a wide run from the rear on March 19.
It was a big effort to cover ground in a fast-run event and she's bred to get the extra trip, being out of Heavens Above (Group 1 winner) and her granddam (Reggie) is a three-time Stakes winner at 2200m-2400m.

Sandown Roughie - Race 7 No. 2 Sir Rockford
It was a good resumption from Sir Rockford, who made ground for third against the race shape of a 1600m Moonee Valley event (winner box-seated and runner-up was the leader).
The six-year-old was still a run short second-up over 1800m on the Hillside track, but it was another solid performance from Sir Rockford and he's down in grade for this attempt.
He has some decent form lines from his last prep, which includes a third-up placing in the Moe Cup and the gelding followed that up with a competitive Flemington showing at Listed level.

Sandown Value Bet - Race 8 No. 1 Sun God
Due to the track, it's worth forgiving many of the beaten brigade from the William Reid Stakes program at Moonee Valley and Sun God did start as a $5 chance in a BM84 on that program.
Following good lead-up work in some handy heats, the Chris Waller-trained import was on Australian debut in a race taken out by Stay Focused, who bolted in at Listed level last Saturday,
All of his best European performances were recorded at 2000m+, so the rise in distance on Wednesday should suit and now back to a midweek BM70, this is a decent drop in grade for Sun God.
