Race 4 No. 11 Mangifera

She was well-supported ahead of her debut attempt at Bunbury in December, however, Mangifera was sent back to the trials after putting on a bucking display.

With two subsequent second-pace finishes recorded before being tipped out, the three-year-old improved from the first race day experience and the form has stood up.

In her last appearance, Mangifera was runner-up to Deel Her In, a filly who saluted at Listed level in February and Rock 'N' The Jam was also produced from that race.

Rock 'N' The Jam bolted in with his next two starts (both at Saturday metro level) and leading into Wednesday's resumption, Mangifera moved well in a March 31 trial.

It was just an even return effort from this son of All American, especially given he had the back of Awesome Boy, with that winner saluting despite working in the run.

Drilling Rig still held ground in that 1200m outing and he was first-up off only one trial (made his debut last May), so there's room to improve second-up on Wednesday.

The three-year-old has always given the impression that he would excel over middle distances so the 1500m here is a positive and he'll get a softer run this time from gate two.

He was an eye-catcher via his first start at Ascot, where Drilling Rig ran the fastest last 200m of the May 8 program and he took time to wind up in that 1100m event.
