Hawkesbury Tips April 9
The Lawn Shed Handicap Tips (Race 2)
Hawkesbury Favourite - Race 2 No. 8 Couples Retreat
There was a lot of merit to her debut, where Couples Retreat mustered up to take the lead and she easily beat off the on-speed influences who applied early pressure to her outside.
Enriched (winner) eventually got the inside run and that form received a big boost last month when Enriched won a Listed race, while she was second behind a very smart Autumn Glow on March 22.
Couples Retreat then bolted in with a strong maiden before a third-of-seven finish in a race won by Zoubaby (stakes placed next start) and Amelita (runner-up) was a Group 3 winner at her next outing.
Blakes Marine Handicap Tips (Race 3)
Hawkesbury Best Bet - Race 3 No. 7 Full Hao
Getting out 1600m at start two should suit this Chris Waller-trained filly, who worked home nicely from the rear on debut and that was taken race out by a smart winner (Meridiana).
The runner-up (Fleeting Spirit) franked that form with a Super Maiden breakthrough at her next start, while the 2024 references around El Paso (third) also make for good reading.
Full Hao only got warm late, with the three-year-old recording the fastest last 200m of the entire Randwick-Kensington meeting and from barrier one on Wednesday, there's more options early.
Elite Sand & Soil Handicap Tips (Race 6)
Hawkesbury Next Best Bet - Race 6 No. 1 Written In Code
Written In Code broke a big drought when bringing up win number two at Moonee Valley before a spell and that Melbourne triumph was the confidence-booster that she needed.
The Neasham & Archibald made it back-to-back victories via her March 13 return, where the five-year-old launched from last to salute (fastest last 600m and 400m of the program).
That Randwick-Kensington event has already produced two subsequent metro winners (Seascape and Yankee One), while Canara (runner-up) almost made it a third when just missing on March 26.
Clarendon Tavern Handicap Tips (Race 8)
Hawkesbury Value Bet - Race 8 No. 9 Misterkipchoge
He frustrated punters throughout his last campaign, where Misterkipchoge placed in his last five appearances without winning and he was respected in the market all of those outings.
Resuming at 1500m gives the four-year-old a sniff in this return assignment (found 1300m too sharp first-up last time in) and he was unlucky multiple times via earlier spring performances.
I'm respecting that Chris Waller has held on to Misterkipchoge, a galloper who has some shown promise in better company and J-Mac sticks from the most recent trial when fourth behind Evaporate.
