Bodo/Glimt, holding a 3-1 lead from the first leg, are heavy favorites to progress past NEC Nijmegen in the Champions League qualifiers. The Norwegian side boasts a dominant home record in Europe and is tipped to win again with over 3.5 goals expected, though both sides are likely to score. NEC Nijmegen face a tough task overturning the deficit away from home, compounded by injuries and inexperience at this level. Bodo/Glimt's recent form and attacking credentials should see them through.

Bodo/Glimt vs NEC Nijmegen UEFA Champions League Tips & Prediction

Bodo/Glimt have a 3-1 advantage from the first leg and are backed to extend their dominant home record in Champions League qualifiers and confirm their return back to the league phase when they host Dutch outfit NEC Nijmegen in the second leg on Tuesday at the Aspmyra Stadium.

Over the last few years, Bodo/Glimt have become a genuine European powerhouse. The Norwegian side beat the likes of Man City, Atletico Madrid and Inter on their way to the R16 of the Champions League last season and they look set to qualify for the league phase again here.

Bodo have won their last nine consecutive Champions League qualifiers at home and prevailed in seven of their last nine games in this competition overall, so it's a big ask for Nijmegen to overturn a two-goal deficit on the road.

I don't think Bodo are going to be complacent and take their foot off the gas, so Over 3.5 goals and a win for the hosts with both teams scoring look like the best plays for this encounter.
  • Bodo have won their last nine Champions League home qualifiers
  • Bodo have won seven of their last nine Champions League games
  • Bodo have seen Over 3.5 goals in four of their last five games
  • Nijmegen have seen Over 3.5 goals in their last two games
  • Nijmegen have scored in their last six competitive defeats
  • Bodo have conceded in their last three competitive wins
  • Bodo have scored exactly five goals in five of their last seven games

Bodo/Glimt vs Nijmegen Head To Head

The first leg was the first competitive meeting between the sides, with Bodo coming away with a 3-1 win on the road, with Sondre Fet, Andreas Helmersen and Haitam Aleesami getting on the scoresheet.

Bodo/Glimt Form Analysis

Bodo were pipped by Viking for the Norwegian Eliteserien premiership last season and are in a big battle with their rivals for the title this term as well.

Indeed, Bodo have won 13 of their 17 league games to be leading the ladder, one point ahead of Viking after winning six consecutive games after the summer break.

Kjetil Knutsen's team have been hugely impressive in European competition over the last few years and are on the cusp of Champions League football once again.

Bodo edged out Union Saint-Gilloise in a 6-5 thriller over two legs in the previous qualifying round before last week's brilliant performance against Nijmegen in the Netherlands, coming away with a 3-1 victory.

Bodo/Glimt Team News

Jostein Gundersen (thigh) and Hakon Evjen (knee) were missing from last week's first leg win.

Andreas Helmersen has stepped up following Kasper Hogh's departure and has four goal involvements in his last three games.

Bodo/Glimt Possible Starting XI (4-3-3): Nikita Haikin; Fredrik Sjovold, Odin Bjortuft, Haitam Aleesami, Fredrik Andre Bjorkan; Sondre Auklend, Patrick Berg, Sondre Fet; Ole Blomberg, Andreas Helmersen, Jens Petter Hauge

NEC Nijmegen Form Analysis

This is just Nijmegen's fifth ever participation in a UEFA competition and first in 17 years, while it's also their maiden appearance at any stage of the Champions League.

NEC earned the right to compete in qualifying following last season's third-place finish in the league and they advanced to the final round of qualifying by moving past Greek club Olympiakos 2-1 on aggregate.

Nijmegen opened their new domestic league campaign with a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Telstar, but bounced back with a strong 4-1 victory over Willem II in their most-recent outing.

It's a tall order for the Dutch side to travel to the Arctic circle and come away with the upset, but Clement Bischoff's late goal in the first leg gives them a glimmer of hope.

NEC Nijmegen Team News

Koki Ogawa and Sami Ouaissa are both in some doubt for this clash, while centre-backs Philippe Sandler and Perr Schuurs remain sidelined.

NEC Possible Starting XI (3-4-2-1): Robin Crettaz; Brayann Pereira, Ivan Storm, Luc Fonville; Jari Monteiro, Darko Nejasmic, Esteban Lebreton, Clement Bischoff; Tjaronn Chery, Dusan Tadic; Bryan Linssen
