David Vandyke’s representative has finished runner-up in three of his four starts to date including when debuting at Sunshine Coast in October.
The three-year-old was beaten less than half-a-length when contesting a 1000m held on a sound surface that day and he has since proven he handles wet conditions.
The gelding went on to place second, beaten one-and-a-half-lengths when stepped up to 1400m and racing on a heavy 8 track at the same venue in November.
The selection tackled much stronger company than he gets here in his sole unplaced effort which came over 1630m at Doomben on his next start.
While the pick went on to lose out at short odds back at Sunshine Coast when contesting a 1600m maiden on a soft 6 track in December he has been spelled since that effort.
The Per Incanto gelding showed up well when successful in a trial last month and with forecast underfoot conditions to suit he looks up to breaking through for his first win.

The son of Adelaide demonstrated ability on debut when finishing just under five lengths fourth in a 1400m maiden at Beaudesert just under a year ago.
The gelding raced on a heavy track that day and while he made just one subsequent start in 2024 he broke through for his first win at Kilcoy at the start of January.
The five-year-old won by half-a-length when contesting a 1200m maiden held on a soft 7 track that day and he has performed well in all three subsequent outings.
Those subsequent efforts include a good second, beaten just over three lengths having raced from mid-division in a 1700m Class 1 handicap here on his penultimate start.
The selection arrives here on the back of a good third-place finish in a 1640m Class 1 handicap at Doomben last month with the gelding’s last two efforts both coming on good 4 surfaces.
Lindsay Gough’s inmate boasts an inside barrier here and looks up to doubling her career tally.

The five-year-old has been on her travels this season starting in South Adelaide, Melbourne and Tasmania already.
The mare’s sole success from seven starts this time around came when racing second up in a 1200m Benchmark 64 handicap at Mornington at the end of September.
Girl came home nearly a length clear of her rivals when racing from the front on a soft 5 surface that day and she registered her best effort since when third at Sandown in January.
The daughter of Zoustar placed third in a 1200m Benchmark 70 handicap held on the Lakeside track that day and she was stepped up to Group 3 company at Hobart subsequently.
The selection failed to make an impact in the Mystic Journey Stakes just over two months ago and she has joined the Jack Bruce stable since that effort.
Girl boasts a good barrier here and having gone well first up in the past may prove up to surprising under Damien Thornton.
