Northam Best Bet - Race 4 No. 4 Blue Destiny
Tiarnna Noske operates with only a small team but has several progressive types in the yard, and Blue Destiny shapes as another after showing plenty of promise in three trials without yet making his race-day debut.
The big son of Blue Point won both of his Lark Hill heats through winter before connections remained patient, giving him a short spell and bringing him back with another victory in a 1000m Belmont trial on September 29.
Jarrad Noske kept him in a comfortable rhythm throughout that latest hit-out and stays aboard for his first start, while four of the beaten runners from the trial already boast metropolitan form references.
This is not a weak provincial maiden, with One Last Resort bringing three placings from four starts, Yamanex dropping back from metropolitan three-year-old company and several other runners arriving with exposed form.
Barrier three gives Blue Destiny every chance to settle in a favourable position and, after winning all three trials without being extended, he looks capable of making a winning start to his career.

Northam Next Best Bet - Race 7 No. 1 Kanas Mtoto
Early promise was evident from Kanas Mtoto with two trial wins in May last year, although his race-day debut at Pinjarra Scarpside proved too much when he finished last-of-nine before being given 10 months away from the track.
The Summer Dickson-trained gelding returned at Belmont in March with an encouraging fourth-of-11 over 1000m, making ground from back and wide in a race where the first four finished well clear of the remainder.
He then broke through over 1200m at Pinjarra on April 8, narrowly defeating Special Counsel, who later won at Northam before proving competitive at stakes level during the winter.
Kanas Mtoto resumed with another strong effort at Bunbury on September 28, finishing runner-up to Cosmic Treat in Class 3 company and putting a clear margin on third-placed Ronin Danger despite settling well back from barrier 11.
The drop back to Class 1 company helps offset the 60.5kg impost, while barrier one should allow Austin Galati to give him a much more economical run, and the lightly raced four-year-old looks capable of progressing beyond this grade.

Northam Value Bet - Race 8 No. 11 Power Missile
Power Missile showed useful ability in Victoria for Lindsey Smith, recording four wins and proving competitive on several occasions in metropolitan company before spending a lengthy period away from racing.
The seven-year-old has since changed stables and is now with Katja Warwick, and while his early runs back in Western Australia offered little, there have been signs recently that he may have turned a corner.
A September trial behind Blacklock was sound without his race-day blinkers before the gear went back on at Northam on October 4, where he attracted notable support from $61 into $26 and produced a much better effort than the result suggests.
Power Missile was held up from straightening until approaching the 200m in that Class 5 before finding the line well for fourth-of-11, beaten 3.7 lengths, after being forced further back than ideal at a crucial stage.
This Class 5 looks even thinner and, with the extra 100m likely to suit second-up, Lisa Staples aboard from barrier three and the recent market confidence suggesting connections are happier with him, Power Missile appeals as a speculative value runner to close the Northam meeting.
