Proven Thoroughbreds have a knack of finding a nice horse at a sensible price and they look to have another progressive galloper in Wild Thoughts, who was purchased as a yearling for only $45,000.
The son of So You Think was given time after a debut third in January, with that maiden taken out by Modella (Group competitive twice over autumn) and his winter opened with a runner-up finish behind Cold Brew.
Cold Brew franked that form with victories at his next two appearances, which includes a dominant Midway win last Saturday and Wild Thoughts broke through with a stylish second-up triumph over this track/trip.

He was a late starter, with Frontex kicking off his racing as a four-year-old early this year and off his three performance over that first campaign, the gelding could be a city class horse with more progression this season.
Following a debut second at Canterbury, the Team Hawkes-trained galloper finished third in strong Super Maiden at Kembla Grange, where he was giving 4.5kg to a smart Amreekiyah, who won her next two starts.
Inevitable Truth (narrowly beaten in a Group 3 at her next start) was also produced from that event, as was Ella Hazel, who broke through second-up and she was also a city winner after contesting two Group 1's.

Kembla Grange Value Bet - Race 8 No. 4 Vin Santo
While his form was mixed in three runs over his first prep, there was enough to like about the third-place finish at start two, where Vin Stanto stuck on bravely after sitting outside of the leader in a fast-run race.
The quinella from that February 28 contest both saluted at their next outings and while Vin Santo was disappointing third-up as a beaten fav, it was an end of prep effort and 1400m was too big of an ask at that stage.
In a Newcastle maiden that was taken out by Hillier (Group placed in February and runner-up at Flemington last Saturday), the four-year-old was wayward in his fresh attempt, so the blinkers going here is a positive.
